Screen Glitches and FPS Fluctuation

Post by tyskorn »

I've been having some weird screen glitches lately. I noticed it three days ago during Hangtown, but it's still doing it even in single player now. I watched a 40 man demo and watched a GPU monitor thing. My FPS will be at like 60 and then drop to 30 or below for a second. I haven't noticed any programs running on the task manager. My GPU usage and FB usage we fluctuating quite a bit, but everything else is stable. I don't know what FB usage is, but with those two things fluctuating is there any indication of what my problem is? I keep on thinking that maybe unplugging my second monitor and just running one will help, but I have no idea.
Thanks for any help.

Off. I did try turning it on to see if it would stay at 60 and be good, but it dropped down to 30 sometimes still.
Here are all of my settings.

It's only MXS. I played Dirt 3 just fine a little while ago.

Mine will do it every once in awhile not sure what is causing it because it is random but I think it does it when I have a browser open and then play but not sure

If you have the ground tex res too high you'll get a good framerate when you aren't moving, but when you move it'll get glitches when it needs to render new sections of the track.

You might want to try max performance for the power management mode too. Adaptive actually works fine on my system, but it's worth a shot.

I have the texture resolution at 128x128, but I did try changing the power management and it seems better.

I uninstalled AVG and it's fine now. I've had AVG since like 2010 and never had the problem. I guess something that the 2013 version does just messes me up.
