Decided on building a computer, need help w hardware

Okay so as you see in the title I'm building a new computer and I know I want it to be an atx simply for more ports..... I just need help with the processor and gpu.... My price range to build it is around 500 to 600 dollars if possible. I have notice amd is a little cheaper than intel but I have an i3 laptop and it works fine for mxs so I might go with that. It's just my gpu that's holding me back because they are integrated:/ so any tips and stuff like that would help.
