Computer turns on but laptopsceen wont please help

Hey guys just wanted to know if anyone has a clue as to what is wrong with my laptop. I push power

But i press power and the laptop powers on the fan goes the dic tray opens and the lock mouse pad button works. My problem is that the laptop screen itself will not turn on at all. Any ideas as to whats wrong:( i want to continue playing but also have tracks on there so i dont want to buy a whole laptop. Thanks

Is this from being totally off or waking from sleep?

If im correct sleeping but im not 100% sure i shut it or power down.

not too sure what is wrong with it but if you can't get it fixed you could always hook it up to an external display. My laptop screen broke so I run it through my tv (HDMI cable) and just treat it like a desktop until I fix the screen. Not a solution to your problem but it beats chucking your laptop.

You use a T.V. for your computer. Sick, haha.

Tried it already i can only dothat if im signed into my account. It doesnt display a screen so i cant see how to sign in to do that-_-

If you just close the lid it's from sleep, if you hold the power button down it'll shut down.

This was happening to my laptop and updating the BIOS fixed it.

A display is a display, doesn't matter what its trying to display. Assuming that there wasn't anything wrong with your ports or your cable you might want to look into Nate's suggestion. Does the computer make any sort of beeps or indication that it is starting other than fans spinning?

This mouse is driving me insane. I've broken/worn out the left click button and it takes one click into two or three. My apologies.

No beeps i had just shut it off and turned it on the only thing that happens is the power button, fan then nothing. Other than the fan the dic tray opens. No noises other than the computer running. Like i put my ear to the laptop and i hear a pur.

Not all laptops beep. Mine doesn't. What laptop do you have and what operating system are you running?

It is an E Machine and windows 7 itell 2.5 processor.
