I have the updated Feb 21st, 2014 MX Server (the newest).
I have a problem with having the track I just added match the user(s) files they just downloaded... I'm new to having my owner server. I've looked around at guides and stuff and I haven't been able to answer this question.
Anyone want to help my stupid ass? Hahaha

Re: MX Server help
You're probably missing some files for the track you're trying to add. Are you getting any warnings about missing shape files?

Also note that .trackinfo files won't work if it's a space withing the filename.

Re: MX Server help
Ahhh that makes sense. So if I try and make a trackinfo file from a track that I'm missing an object or something it won't properly make the trackinfo match others if they have the track? I probably said that terribly but I know what you mean.jlv wrote:You're probably missing some files for the track you're trying to add. Are you getting any warnings about missing shape files?

Re: MX Server help
You can't make or create a trackinfo file from a track you don't have since the /trackinfo command saves a trackinfo file from the currently running track. Also, some versions of track might be slightly changed, you miss a file or a file is different from others (somehow), than others won't be able to play that track (version) of yours since the trackinfo file won't match with thier tracks. I hope it made sence.Dinelli wrote:Ahhh that makes sense. JLV, is it the hash in the trackinfo files that are different in different people's versions (even if they got almost the exact same track)? Also, how is the hash calculated?

Yes, if your files don't match the hash will be different. The hash is for all the files that affect the scoring and physics of the track.
