JLV, decal problems

Post by slowngreen »

I was trying to help a guy out and get some decals put into his track folder for him but I couldnt ever get anything to show up. So I tried it on a new blank track and still nothing. So I tried it on a track Ive been working on and no decals show up in it either?

The desc file is named exactly the same, the decals in the decal folder are spelled exactly the same as what Im putting in the file. And I do have the blank line after the last entry.

When you're in the decal editor and put the pointer on the coordinates from your decals file, is there an arrow for the decal there?

Try using @grass32x32.png as the image. If that makes them show up it means it's not finding the image files.

Its weird, I even pulled the decal folder and decal files from a finished track, put them in a new blank track, just to see if they showed up, changed the track names and still no go. Not sure why this is happening. Was working fine a month or so ago for me.

It's possible the "." in the file name is throwing something. Is there a blank line at the end of the file?

I have the blank after words for sure. Ive removed the "." and tried with no luck. But even with that not working, Ive tried 3 times now on three seperate blank tracks to add the decals folder and files from a finished track and they dont even show up.

If you save in the game's editor does it update the decals file?

Sounds like you're in the wrong folder in that case.

Its in my personal folder, no subfolder.

I downloaded the "updated blank" and guess what, no decals or tile maps appear.

Upload the whole track folder. Us taking stabs doesn't seem to be getting the job done.

Sorry for the stupid question but how do I update the track file?

I restarted my pc by the way if that makes any difference. Seems really odd why the blank tracks arent having any decals show for me but finished tracks I download are working fine. Cant think of anything Ive changed or added/deleted to make this stop working correctly.

Well some progress and Im not sure why. I reset my pc to an earlier time (2 weeks ago) and now I can get decals to show up in the updated blank track, still not in the orginal blank though, even if I directly copy the files into the blank track folder. This will work for now though until maybe I figure it out completely.
