Server help

Post by AntonioPallares »

Hey everyone,my server has been running smooth. But now everytime someone tries to connect they get the contacting server message. I think it has to do with the port forwarding. Thanks for your attention

You named it. Port forward your router and it should be good to go.

Then you probably did something wrong. Each router needs different things. My parents old one was just open the 19800 (standard one) UDP port and no more. On my current one, I had to specify which IP adress in the local nretwork was the destination. And since DHCP is most commonly on by default, I had to set my ip-adress manually to keep it the same.

I don't do any port forwarding or anything. I have people connect to my Hamachi network, and then I run the mxserver and then they connect to my IP and it's good

Your ISP may not allow you to forward ports. In that case Hamachi would be your best option.
