game only runs at 1 frame per second (even in menu)

this has happened to my friend on his gaming PC and just happened to me on mine. for whatever reason the game opens up and is automatically running at way less than a frame per second even in the menu.. i checked directX 3d thing and it says its all enabled. im running windows 7 home premium (x86) by the way. there weren't any videos on youtube so here i am...

I would start by checking GPU drivers. If it isn't this, I'd move to RAM. I recently had to buy a new kit of ram because mine was causing my games to running at extremely low FPS. To check RAM, run Windows Memory Diagnostic

Sounds like you're getting software rendering. Try reinstalling your graphics driver.

When you bring up the graphics menu, what does the driver info say?

Start the game, choose "Graphics/Sound Setup". The driver info will be at the bottom of the screen.

If you prefer, you can get it out of your lastlog.txt file in "%localappdata%\MX Simulator\lastlog.txt". The driver info is the GL_RENDERER/GL_VERSION lines but you can just post the whole file.

Could you redo that without using the personal folder shortcut? If you aren't using a recent snapshot that shortcut will overwrite the log file. So you have to either open the personal folder and then rerun the game itself to create a new log file or just open %localappdata% in a file explorer window.

The Microsoft GDI driver is software rendering. Install the driver from Nvidia/AMD/Intel depending on what GPU you have. If you don't know what you have you can use "dxdiag" to find out.
