Stop being so mean Evans, just because he doesn't follow those 'turorials' you did, or has the 'forest trees plugin' that you did. We all can't be as sick gnar as you.

Well he can go watch the tutorials and download the lite pack for free. I wasn't very mean? When Devin asked me why it wasn't very good i told him why.

Not enough camber.

There's a difference between explaining why it isn't "good" and just being opinionated. I'd be stoked for a render like that! We all can't be incredible at what we do.

Well its not "good". Its not my opinion its a fact. Its not terrible, im not trying tell the guy it sucks, He just needs to work on reflections and smoothing mainly. The ground doesn't look good and the background too the left it just drops off to nothing, needs a background. If he spends more time it will be good, i know he could make it look better hes made pretty decent renders in the past. Sorry for speaking the truth instead of kissing ass.Ddavis wrote:There's a difference between explaining why it isn't "good" and just being opinionated. I'd be stoked for a render like that! Well if he wasn't trying to make it realistic i guess its great Devin, Im sure you like that way more than benjis and p2stas. I know he can do better.Ddavis wrote:Some art sucks to people and some art is well, art! I personally like it, so it's opinion not fact, Evans.

I said this where? Stop jumping to conclusion Partrick, you're starting shit as usual. I agree it can be better but I'm not bashing him on it.supercross711 wrote:Im sure you like that way more than benjis and p2stasDdavis wrote:Some art sucks to people and some art is well, art! Whos bashing? I'm saying whats wrong with it, he knows how to fix it, hes made good looking stuff. Ive never once said he sucks at renders. that particular render isn't very good because i think he rushed. Pay attention Devin.

Instead of saying the reflections and lighting can be better, explain why and help him.

Gotcha, continue on then..
Re: Post your render for MXS here!
If you just accept that
One thing I see the most from this thread is the same things over and over again, no one seems to be trying to out do the last render they did, there are tons more to a render then just placement and objects. I'm not the best a renders either, I actually struggle with them, but I know if I'm doing them I'm doing the best I can to do to make it the best I can.
If you just accept you can't be incredible at what you do how are supposed to get incredible at it then? Nothing is just natural talent you have to work for it, and if you want it to be good then will do what ever you can to do that. Rushing something is only gonna give you a product that looks rushed. Now I don't really know what Evans is talking about when he says "smoothing" if he is talking about the model then that would mean he is working with high poly models which he isn't.Unless he is talking about the amount of samples? I don't know, but the whole point of a render is to show you work at it's best, not just through a scene together and called it good. Go have a look a polycount.com, and have a peek in their "Work in Progress" thread, most the artists there make every update look it's best, and those are only updates not final show pieces!Ddavis wrote:There's a difference between explaining why it isn't "good" and just being opinionated.
