Dusty Hills enduro beta

Post by mace-x »

here´s an enduro track wich i think that´s very good but has been storaged in my hd for a year almost lol, if someone likes it i might finish it, laptimes are about 10 minutes.
the terrain is huge, generated by computer and updated manually.
thanks to dj for the skybox.

preview picture later,im not at home ,but i can assure that it´s worth a shot :)

The closest this track would come to being an enduro, is something like a Baja race. Feels like it was designed for a 4WD game. Fun track though. I'm surprised I managed to complete a lap though, as it is really easy to get lost.

Textures aren't too bad. The on track textures look great in a straight line, but they look really bad at turns, as they cross over.

Whilst the mud was fun, it just didnt really seem to fit the map properly, it seemed too random.

Seems like it could be a nice freeride track as well

yeah indeed it s like baja type track!! it feel huge the area! interesting!! i think the roost of the sand is really good to feel that we are in a dusty sand, type baja... i think in a track like possum.. more roost likethis ll be better to feel it better the sand! i like this roost!! otherwise yeah as they all said, it s too easy to get lost and i concentrate more on trying to find the mark on the ground than trying to accelerate crazy like in baja! the mud is fun but indeed does not feel like in his place, maybe by creating environment and entering a forest.. but i mean it s a beta for the moment!
but it s different and fun to ride! it ll just be nice to see better where we have to go!
btw, every time i saw your signature i though it was a real pics!!! until now... oops!!! sick pic!

thanks guys!, i doubt i will finish it as long as i cant import custom objects into game, then, i`ll remove the mud and it will be a baja track i guess :)
i like the roos too, but i`ll add the better ontrack decals to the to-do list :)

Hey mace, I like the track, it does have a feel of baja, add some sparce bush and maybe if you can have one side of the skybox like the ocean(baja is a penisula-spelling?) If you really want to make it like a baja track, only put up arrows (little post on the side of the track with a paper on it with an arrow pointing where you need to go next)at the the points where the course is about to turn. maybe you could even make the marker arrows different colors, like if there is a big 180 turn coming up make the arrow marker red and for an easy turn green. Also make the track more noticable, maybe make it like a road with a little lip on both side of the track. I dont know if im making myself clear, but a lot of the track down in baja is gravel-like roads. I know its a beta but the more info the better. I really liked the feel of the sand and I like the mud too. You should also add more whoops, because down there sometimes you go for 50 miles of all whoops, something about the desert that forms them. That five whoops section was pretty cool should add a lot more of those. This is what I could come with after playing the track for a couple of minutes(wifes fault). Im going to keep on this track and try and finsih a lap. ahah. But dude the track is headed in the right direction, good work.

thanks guys, might give it a check if i have some time, but as long as i cant import objects into the game i doubt that i´ll finish it, but if i do it, it will be a baja track for sure.
might ceck the arrows thing, i liked the idea, plus add a more racing style, not just a landscape..
thanks for the comments guys!
