I agree with that. Use the large satellite shot for the base, then put a transparent hd overlay over it. And finish it up with your on track decals over the top of that with the shading X2. The off track resolution and quality aren't really noticed when you are in motion. So using the actual picture with some grass billboards and stuff should be adequate enough.Mr. Snrub wrote:Perhaps you could do this underneath, then do normal textures on top

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
From pics and videos it looks like the track got a proper soaking before the race. Hence the color difference. I'm still working on it though...haggqvist wrote:Mona wrote:Are you going to change the color of the dirt to match the "monster decal"? The environment might look more natural/realistic with the monster decal colors.
the dirt was darker last year to they brought in alot more dirt hence the reason the track last year had a looser top soil of the hard base simular to pala without the gnarly ruts.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
A little more progress on my track, it's turned into more of a compound. I still have a fair bit of decal work and terrain to finish and objects to place but I'm getting there. Can I get someone to make a stepup pole for me? if so, PM me, it would be much appreciated.

How do you create that slight "bump bump bump" feeling throughout the whole track???

So. Now we have an epic model maker (P2sta), and now an epic track maker (you, although you already made a pretty epic track).

I have done that by adding a new layer with black and white noise in it, then just adjusting the opacity so it smooths it out.Garasaki wrote:How do you create that slight "bump bump bump" feeling throughout the whole track???
Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
By using raise/lower/smooth in the editor. I make all my tracks almost exclusively in the editor with raise/lower/smooth, I only use ps to level terrain and move things around.Garasaki wrote:How do you create that slight "bump bump bump" feeling throughout the whole track???
