i think editing the terrain.hf works, make the second number higher to increase the scale, and the last two numbers change maximum and minimum height i think from what i can work out

You have to increase the dimension in terrain.hf to 10, resize terrain.png and shading.ppm to 2049x2049 and pad the tilemap out to 1024x1024 bytes. Here's a new blank that has been resized like that:

With scale=2 this will be 4096x4096 feet. If you have a weak system this may give you trouble as it will use 4x as much memory for a lot of things.

Yeah, I've noticed with a few tracks that the terrain puts alot of strain on the computer when they are highly detailed (like ATOC's track). Might keep away from these size maps then...
