Introduction and Snow Park preview.

Post by L89 »

I thought I would introduce myself and show you guys what I have been working on. I have been playing mxsim for a little now and I finally have something to show off.

I love mx but my real passion is snowboarding. Unfortunately, snowsim doesn't exist so I chose the next best thing. When I discovered the editor I thought, what would a park crew make if snowboards had motors? Snow Park is what I came up with.

I'm fairly new to editing so right now it isn't painted the way I want it to be. When I figure out tilemaps it will look a lot better. I also plan on filling the entire hillside. I just wanted to know if anyone would have any interest in riding the final product. You'll probably notice that the whole place is extremely unrealistic and it is definitely not pretty. I know this is mxsimulator but I have fantasies that need to be put down on paper :D. I'm open to any suggestions. Let me know what you think.

Make the terrain look like a real ski resort, and have multiple runs for the way down, and also for the way up. Read some tutorials on decals, then put some in there and adjust the friction. I really like this concept idea.

All of that is in the plan. All the runs will be nicely groomed. As far as decals go I'd like it to look like snowboarders are using the park. I already have up-hill and down-hill runs. I'm afraid that if I adjust the friction at this point it will ruin all the jumps since they are all set up for certain gears. I need to find some objects to throw in there as well. Maybe there is a 3d model of a snowcat floating around. Is there a page somewhere that shows all of the keyboard shortcuts for the editor?

If it is a snowboarding game I have probably played it. Shaun Whites was decent, but it wasn't anywhere close to what I want. There really aren't any snowboarding games that go for realism. Stoked tried and failed miserably. If only EA Black Box would make Snow instead of Skate 3. I know that a lot of people wont like this place because it is so specific, but it's very fun (for me) to ride and hopefully when I'm done some other people will like it too.

I would love to do that but I need to get it lookin pretty first. It would kind of ruin the concept if people rode it looking like this.

Doesn't look terrible, I like your jump shapes and how clean they look.

Duckstream and L89, amped 2 is the best snowboarding game out there. its an old xbox game that came out in 03 but works on the 360. im getting it in the mail on the 29th, im so stoked! but, dont bother looking up vids on youtube because they all suck, the people who made them make the game look like a piece of crap but it isnt that is for sure. ps, they have it on ebay for 8 bucks including shipping

Shaun White Snowboarding sucks. Stoked is way better.

But I've made so many of these runs. I made last years slopestyle from XGames even. It's gone now. :( I do however still have a shitty replica of the snocross track.
