Re: 2014 MotoOption Supercross Rd 17 - Las Vegas
the dirt is stored pretty sure in a warehouse year round... and used for other things such as monster jam, etc. you have just as much right to prove a source as i do... fuck, A1 dirt could be from anywhere, but could also be local seeing as how blue grooved it gets, looks like they took it from fucking elsinore.. lol.The Conman wrote:Now listen here you diddly fuck, show me your source they didn't use local dirt. Sure, they may not at some other tracks, but I bet they do here. Shit, I can practically tell just from watching them ride on it and how the track/dirt develops. It's local dirt. And even if it has some dirt from other places, it will still behave mostly like our local dirt. So I WOULD know, or at least far better than every other person on this site, including you, what the dirt is like.AWood wrote:a lot of the dirt isnt local dirt... so you WOULDNT know what the dirt is like unless youve been on the trackThe Conman wrote:It's a bit too slick to be honest, and I would actually know, because I live here and know what the dirt is like. It's not as bad as everyone made the traction out to be. Just a bit too slick.

I watched them build the 1997 track with dirt from right outside the stadium. Dirt still looks the same after almost 20 years.

Traction is horrid
you made a line in the sand to where if you dont jump over the wall its 2 seconds slower
Not going to be a fun track to race on with people sliding out on the flat turns and cartwheeling them selfs on the dragons back and sand section

Please traction experts in this thread, tell me what the tile info should read so I dont make such a rookie mistake again. Its funny how JLV used that traction for like 3 years on every single track and never caught this much shit for it.

Wasn't that the theme this year? Why change it now.Craig wrote: Not going to be a fun track to race on
Re: 2014 MotoOption Supercross Rd 17 - Las Vegas
I'm no expert on track making by any means but I think people are complaining because you get jlv traction on a unrealistic track and it flows then you put it on a realistic style track like yours and it's to slick. It's honestly not bad except for the long sweepers and shorter berms. The only thing I see that would make this way better is changing the wall section and making the wall taller and not as steep and making adding a little more grip, if there were going to be changes made. That's just my opinion. Regardless thanks for your time into this track and giving these ignorant assholes something to ride on even tho they don't appreciate it!barrington314 wrote:Please traction experts in this thread, tell me what the tile info should read so I dont make such a rookie mistake again. Shut up Brett. I wanna hear more about Awood getting upset about dirt.

Big thanks for the whole season SX tracks and stadium work! Awesome!

Not saying I'm a traction expert or a track making expert in any way but Mason made a traction in the beginning of the year that felt amazing. I dont know if you guys looked at it or not and your decision was made by you guys for the best experience but I just put his tile map on Vegas and it feels a lot better in my opinion. Not saying at all that the track is bad but I feel better traction would make it more enjoyable.barrington314 wrote:Please traction experts in this thread, tell me what the tile info should read so I dont make such a rookie mistake again. Actually, they complained then too. I just can't make myself put in a crazy high friction number with no rationale for why it should be that high. When I see bikes at the real race leaning at ~ 45 degree angles on the flat turns I figure the friction is around 1. The funny part was people would complain about the traction in one round and love it the next round even though it hadn't changed! The berms do change the feel but it was still funny.barrington314 wrote:Please traction experts in this thread, tell me what the tile info should read so I dont make such a rookie mistake again.
