The Other Racing Games Topic

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

After iracing no racing game is the same unfortunately. No physics have yet to come near it. Everything just feels like arcade mode :D
Hahaha true that.

I want iRacing so much right now, I've been looking for a better computer so i can run iRacing well but I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computer specs, so does does anyone know what good gaming computer I could get for like £400-£500?

Really want to renew my membership, but I know its probably not a good idea because I need a good wheel to actually play.

dunno about your money...but i built my computer over a year ago, and ill give you the specs and you can look up the parts. runs iRacing easily, i have it locked at 90 fps, but in testing was running upwards of 200. i locked it to keep it consistent. anyway...

core i5 2400
amd hd6850
8 gigs gskill value ram (dont worry about "gaming" or high performance ram...doesnt really make much difference)
1 TB WD caviar black hd (SSDs are faster, yes, but again, IMO it doenst really matter that much...plus theyre so expensive)
MSI mobo (forgot the exact one...G53? whatever...just get one that is good quality and is compatible with your other hardware)
OCZ 600w power supply
cheapish case...

i built it for $950...you should be able to get it for much less now.

logitech driving force gt...its not that expensive, and from what i hear is about as good as the G27. no h-shifter or clutch pedal, but you dont need them. does make it more fun though...

Does anyone use any of the wheels that are less than $100? I saw those Microsoft SideWinder things and the Genius Twin wheel. The SideWinder looks good, but I couldn't find an actual place that sells them. There are those store things on Amazon with some, but I've never used Amazon or eBay or anything and I don't know how they are. I wanna play some car games with a wheel, but I'm not trying to spend more than 100 bucks on one.

I've been looking for a wheel, that one looks nice. Not that bad of a price. I play both iRacing and rFactor - VHR add on. It's just too hard to switch between the physics with a controller...

I use that wheel and it's pretty nice! Looking to get a G27 though.

Just did another Star mazda race, got 2nd by 0.7 seconds. Tyler and Kyle decided to race it with me. Here's the results.
