Calling any music people.
Im getting more into learning guitar and starting make tiktoks of my journey. Right now i just setup my phone, record, then when i edit the video i just add the song in and lower the song volume so you can hear me playing more. I have a focusrite and use stl amphub for my amps/effects. I am really trying to figure out how to use it on a daw/what daw to use and then how to have that sound play out of my speakers on my computer. Ive tried to set it up on my own and just get really lost. either i get it to play outloud without my amp stuff working or it doesnt play any sound at all. When i tried i was using audacity. Right now the guitar plays out of my speakers and my headset plays the songs as i play along to them. Can anyone help me set it up for what im wating to do? I already know how im going to edit and sync up the guitar to the video, since im experienced in editing, just the music side of it im very new to and have 0 idea what to do. Any help will be appreciated!
here is how im doing it now for reference: https://www.tiktok.com/@crossweeze/vide ... _device=pc

Not sure if this is what you want but I found this:
For Win11: Control Panel -> Hardware & Sound -> Sound -> Recording -> Enable Stereo Mix -> Properties -> Enable Listen -> Select Playback device -> Apply
Might be some tips for you in this playlist as well.

Really cool to see you learning guitar! I recently got an electric drum set and have have been playing it and trying to get better but the sounds through the amp are just awful so I stick to my headphones. It's also worthless when it comes to recording directly to a USB stick and doesn't seem to work with the MIDI cables I got so rip I guess. At some point I'll get a video of myself playing a real set and post it here, maybe this could become a "videos of yourself playing Instruments thread" lol

Great path you've chosen! I was kinda forced into piano lessons as a 3-5th grader. Recital day was the symbolic end of that. My sister got an acoustic she never played. Since I mentally blocked all of the lessons I got, (especially reading music), I picked that guitar up and was playing the E string by ear to the bass line of Rush's Tom Sawyer around freshman year in 1980. After a high-school Iron Maiden cover band without bass and vocals, I dropped it after '86 since girls and bikes weremoreimportant! In the last 10 years, I've been gifted 3 guitars, 2 amps and 3 keyboards! I've forgotten all but a couple of the Maiden songs and just play around by ear or make stuff up anymore. I had some borrowed Roland V-drums, but they cramped my man cave. If my intro to music wasn't done in the old, strict European way I might have been hooked by it and really learned to read music instead of being repulsed lol. I still love music though! I'll need to practice a bunch before I post anything lol.

Re: Calling any music people.
I've been playing electric guitar for 4-5 years and I use the Yamaha Steinberg MK2 audio interface, Cubase Elements 12 as my DAW, and BiasFX 2 as my amp simulator. I can record covers/write my own music using this setup and it sounds pretty much as good as you're ever gonna get.
I did this cover awhile ago using that setup ^
Guitar/bass was recorded by me and I found a drum track on youtube to use cuz I can't play drums lol

Dude that's really good! I need to figure out how to record audio on my SD1250 in a way that doesn't sound like shitting through a Pringles can so I can post some stuff
I watched your Warbrain video too, I love that song.

Re: Calling any music people.
dude thats insane. I grew up thinking i was to cool for it (anyhting i thought was stupid or "gay"{it was a very different time} were things i really wanted to do but was to scared to) whether it was piano, guitar, or gymnastics. I got my first guitar at like 12 or 13 and my grandpa printed out cords and got me this thing to learn from. He was on my ass about it when all i wanted to do was learn songs i knew. So i would just watch youtube tutorials and learn that way. My grandpa hated it, so i just stopped bc he took the fun out of it. wanted to get back into it earlier this year bought a guitar played for about a month and then stopped bc the guitar neck was warped and my top E string woulnt ring out after the second fret. Crazy the contrast in time from how you learned to how i learned only 30ish years apart. When 30 years before you learned, those people probably learned the same way you did. I also always forget how old you actually are bc ive been on here for so long and feel old (for the game/forums). I learn so much shit about you every time we talk and its wild. Like never knew you did anything with music!TeamHavocRacing wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 2:50 pm Great path you've chosen! I was kinda forced into piano lessons as a 3-5th grader.
