I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Man, ill bet all the Poto fanboys are drawing up lists of excuses after tonight, Stewart handed his ass to him when he was having a really fast night. It truly sucks that James has had such miserable luck this year, especially Daytona and Indy, otherwise Poto would be scared shitless right now.

It's a shame that Stewart had such bad luck in the beginning of the season because it'd be a really good battle for the points between him and RV at this point. I'm curious if Villopoto would be able to ride any faster if he needed to beat Stewart for the championship and wasn't just in protect mode. After Dungey's goon mistake tonight I think Villopoto will just be in cruise control as long as he's on the podium.

Well not that one race decides everything but Davalos is putting on his best "I told ya so" face.

As an OG RV fanboy I hope we aren't making excuses. The Stewart I've seen the past two weeks has been untouchable and proving why he has 50 wins. Is RV still stick or feeling weak from it? Who knows. I know that last week it would not have mattered and from what I seen it didn't this week either.

Another talking point, the hell is up with Peick lately? He is going all Davalos on it, bringing it in the heats (Barcia once again picks the biggest guy on the track to get mad with, that will end badly soon enough) then in the mains I see him rolling around on lap 5. I love Peick but damn it hurts to see him fight that hard then have nothing going for him the next. Bummer for the 7-dueceduece aswell, was really hoping to see him 2 peat a main appearance.

What was with the whole Barcia Peick thing? Did something happen, or did Barcia just throw another tantrum?

I think Villi has the eyes on that multi million dollar championship. Think about it though, would you rather be "one of the greatest race winners of the sport" or "one of the greatest champions in our sport". No one remembers race wins, just championships. Still, no doubt that Stewart was on it, it was fun to watch.

Is that why we've heard about nothing but Stewart's win count for the past three weeks?

It was pretty obvious to me, especially from the post race interview, that Villopoto wanted to win this one. They were both on rails, but even the best Villopoto could never beat Stewart on a good night. Awesome racing, for sure. Reminds me of seeing RC and Reed battle around 04 or 05.

Can you can you recall race seasons from the past and who won alot (exact number as that seems anyone cares about) unless they are brought up on the broadcast? I honestly can't tell you who won all the races last year and I watched them all. All I know is Villi has 3 championships in a row and is about to make that 4. Not to de-credit JS7 though, he was the faster guy tonight as has showed that plenty of times, records are records and he is definitely putting himself up there with the greats with 50 wins, the championships are just not there.

"Greatest championship winner" sounds a lot better than the "Greatest race winner".

I can recall great races, yeah. Good races are memorable. I won't forget Toronto or Anaheim 1 2014 any time soon.

Remember the outdoors race when Stewart let Reed go by, then passed him and got a huge gap for the win?

While championships have an impact on how memorable someone is, there are definitely certain races that are historic. Carmichael's charge at Pontiac '02, Carmichael v. McGrath at A2 '01, RC lapping the field in the mud at Millville 06, JS7 vs. Reed at Jacksonville '09, Vegas '11 before stew and kdub wadded, the list goes on. I don't think STL will be one of those super memorable ones, but it was a good one to watch.

Because Villopoto has never beaten Stewart straight up before.
