The Seagate NAS drives are 5900RPM, slightly faster than the WD RED but being in a Raid 5 (slightly modified version) I don't think it would be a problem. Pulling from more drives should be faster I would think. Speed isn't really a big deal to me, I am the only one who accesses it so its not like there are 10 people waiting for stuff.Pumaxcs wrote:Assuming the 3TB Seagates are 7200RPM, that would be the only difference as the Red I don't believe is actually a 7200RPM drive though I don't think it will cause any interferences in storage but may slow it down. As far as I know though size is the big factor in RAID, brand and speed shouldn't affect it.
I've heard of this happening all the time and it never happens to me. Lucky! I bought an LED strip for a friend from MNPCTech and they added a 92mm acrylic fan grill and I tried to be a good person and tell them about it to get a credit or something and they told me it was a gift... gee thanks.
Yea, I ordered another blue actually kind hoping it actually comes right this time hahaha. A year or two ago they sent me a keyboard/mouse that I didn't order, I had a hard time finding a phone number to contact them but after finally finding it they were more confused than I was.
"Do you have an order number"
"no I didn't order anything"
"Ok well without an order number I can't do anything"
"ok what should I do with it?"
"Just keep it"
"uh ok thanks" hahaha
Boblob, you could also go with a Xeon E3-1241 v3, it is like a hyperthreaded 4690k without onboard graphics. Only downside is that you can't OC if that is something you wanted to do (well you can but only base clock so its a little different).
4690k-$346
4790k-$469
E3-1241 v3-$409
Its right about in the middle in both price and performance, might be a good option if you are torn between the two options. You do get screwed a bit on the price but a lot of it is the exchange rate.
