getting shot will all be in the mos you choose. if your not attached to an infantry division you will probably never get shot at. im part of air wing support. and im a heavy equipment mechanic. and i'll probably never have to deal with any bullets being thrown my way.

Like with ROTC, I said I'd be corps of Engineers, and I don't think anyone in the Corps has ever been shot. :/

She (like most people), combines "Army" with "Your going to die."

ha. you have a better chance of dying in your car than you do in the military. and that is a proven fact. there are acctually more suicides and vehicle deaths than there are casualties of war. but yes our society assosiates the military with "your gonna die" because the only deaths the media advertises are the ones from wars.

Exactly. And I keep hearing people say about how bad Iraq is, and how we are dieing left an right, but really, how many casualties are there a month now? 3 or 4? There are that many people dieing from OD's in Vermont alone every month.

And people compare it to Vietnam, yeah, bull. Vietnam was a war, Iraq is a peacekeeping mission against people who think they are BAMF. :/

Yeah, we have only had 10 soldiers killed in Afghanistan so far. Everytime someone is killed, a big deal is made about it.

Lets see, your government pretty much exists because of us. Sure, you guys were under English rule for a long time, but if the US hadn't rebelled and got independence, I'm sure both America and Canada would still be British territory.

And about WW1 and WW2, I don't know what you were talking about. WW1 we played such a tiny role that any Canadian help would be pretty useless to say you saved our asses.

I'm guessing Canada is in the other category, and US is only 2%, so that is hardly saving our asses. Now, on the battle side, I can't think of any time where Canadians and Americans even fought in the same battle. No large scale WW1 battle ever had US/Canadian troops. (I'm talking about Somme, Vimy Ridge, Passchendaele, second battle of Ypres.). Really, both of our roles were tiny, and we should hardly be considered to have any role in the war nearly at all.

Now, WW2, I'll start off by saying Canada did fight in the D-Day invasion with the US, but I'm going to say your beach was straight up, a cakewalk. Juno beach had 340 casualties, mostly Canadian, some British. Omaha had 3,000, Utah had 200, and 135 died on Point du Hoc.

So, again, US took the bigger hit. And played the much larger role in combat. Canada helped, but hardly saved our ass in anyway. And hell, you were still a British colony then, so really, it's not even Canada who 'saved our asses', it's the British.

Now, I'll say this, I don't have Canada, I only hate your stupid French speaking ones directly to my north. They are a bunch of faggots.
