UFC 148 - Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Anderson is likely going to win even though he got beat up for 24mins in the last fight.

Personally Im not a fan of either of these guys, infact I really dont like either but if I had to chose Id like to see Chael win.

Silva is a straight up Beast. Pound for Pound the greatest fighter in his trade.

Disagree. Anderson is a beast for sure, but he is a giant for Mw and has dominated the weakest division in the Ufc. Gsp has more top ten wins and in a more stacked div.

Top Ten wins? I think we may have to agree to disagree on this one broski. Altho GSP does have a better record in UFC than Silva. ( 22-2-0 ) Where Silvas is ( 24-4-0 ) Record wise yea, but all in all, I am more impressed with Silva. I may just be bias.

Did you watch the last Sonnen fight when he got beat up for 24minutes? Silva is amazing but if you look at it objectively the only thing we know is Sonnen has the skill and ability to out strike and out wrestle Silva, and Silva has the ability to sub Sonnen. Claiming Silva or Sonnen are going to dominate or win easily is ridiculous.

nobody out strikes silva. it didnt even seem like he cared about the fight till the end. i think something fishy went down that fight because dana was pissed at silva from the fight before for excessive showboating.

Man, Mr.2 is absolutely right. MW division is the weakest.
GSP fights might be boring to someone but thats because he has dominated every single fight after losing the tittle.

In this fight i have no idea whats going to happen, Sonnen wins by ground & pound? Silva wins by submission&tko? Who knows. Sonnen was dominating and controlling the last S.vs.S fight, but got submitted :D

Ryo Chonan out struck Silva then flying scissor heel hooked him. You believe Sonnen didn't out strike Silva in their last fight? And are you insinuating that the last fight in some way was rigged or staged? If that is the case then how can you claim him to be the best when the outcome or events are predetermined?

Significant Strikes/Accuracy/Total Strikes
Silva 29 of 57 51% 64 of 95
Sonnen 89 of 168 53% 320 of 434

Thank you! Haha its nice to see someone else looking at this fight or sport without bias.

Like I've said before Anderson is amazing and nothing can take away his accomplishments but if you compare his feats against others in this sport it hardly measures up, especially in the past few years. Gsp is an obvious one, boring yes but hes only lost a single round in his past 9 fights. Junior Dos Santos has brutalized every minute of his past 9 fights and hes only 28yrs old, Jon Jones has brutalized 4 former Champs in a row and hes only 25yrs old. No doubt Anderson is a special athlete but hes not the best.

woah now. thats way more then what i was saying. i just meant i think dana told silva to not be as cocky and toy with the guy in the fight. maybe even to make the fight last. idk, dana is a goofy control freak who knows what he would do. but anyway, i think that lead to silva barley trying untill the end where he decided to just win it real fast.

So your saying that a prize fighter would allow himself(or herself) to be beaten up for 24minutes, purposely allow another man to punch him in the face in an attempt to separate him from his consciousness, purposely miss strikes and fail submissions, allow himself to be taken down repeatedly, all so he could throw up a last minute submission attempt that wasn't guaranteed to work allowing him to win? This fighter that lively hood and his families lively hood is directly associated with him winning or losing. Not sure if your just naive or ignorant.
