What parts for my old pc should i upgrade first?

Im not good with pcs, I don't only play mxs, I also play the arma series, I just bought arma 2 combined ops and i also go the dayz mod for arma 2, well the problem is I run 9fps in city and 13fps not in the city's nor towns, I can't afrord right now to buy a new pc, but I. Can slowly go on and buy parts, what should I upgrade first, right now I got ( I want to reach at least 34-45 fps)>>>

Intel pentium 4 2.55ghz

2gb of ram

Nvidia 9400 GT for my graphics card..

Single core CPU, 2GB RAM, and GPU from 2008.

If anything replacing the GPU would be best as that is what games use most but even then it will be bottlenecked and can't be sure of what performance you'll actually get out of it.

I got this pc back in 2009, it was amazing with games back then(of course the games didnt use so much ram shit), now its shit with games exept for mxs which runs at 60fps

Thx bro! any recomemded graphic cards and processors that are not so expensive, i want the intel core i5 or i7 but they are out of my budget right now, idk any graphics cards at all, and Ram i know ant they are cheap so im getting it first.

Try to find a second hand GTX 970 or an ASUS 660 TI graphics card.

I have an AMD FX-4300. It's qud-core and gets the job done. But I mean, anything is better than your single core processor.

Any idea what motherboard you've got? Chances are you're going to need one with a newer socket, and you might as well start from scratch at that point unless you're in love with your case.

Have to agree. At some point its best to jump off the ship before your drown.

If I had to upgrade it I would probably say GPU then CPU/Mobo/Ram but that sounds a lot like building a new PC.

If you scour craigslist/Ebay/computer forums you can probably build something relatively inexpensive that would work a lot better for you. If you are just gaming/word processing/surfing the web then a G3258 is an inexpensive way to go for the CPU and you can get a used Mobo and Ram. Drop a decent GPU in there (can be used too) get a used case and a new but relatively inexpensive PSU and you are in business.

The i3 is fine for gaming, its a quad core and games don't use the CPU like they used too so its will be fine. It goes against me but a R9 280 for budget gaming is one of the best cards there is. Only because you are on a budget and the Windforce cooler is one of the best there is for aircooling, I'd recommend it. As a gaming build this is the most expensive part but, you could get the price down by shopping for a GPU on eBay as they are dirt cheap. I've been looking for a second 780 and honestly there are alot of good things on there. The case comes in different colors and is actually really nice considering its only $33 but it doesn't have a top intake, however, after doing some case mods to my own case putting in a top vent isn't as hard as it may sound and would be really cool.(CASE PUNS!)

thx, i wont be getting stuff till later, and im moving pretty soon so... i will be without my pc till prob the end of summer?? idk when i would get it, maybe i wont get it back and prob get a new pc. idk, rn im plannin just gettin some small stuff to improve my fps at least by 10 fps, i have tried every fix i know on dayz, just 4 fps increase, i used my usb as ram, no fps increas at all, a lot of shit, lol. i will keep that pc in mind for later, looks like a sick pc you built for me
