The AM class was introduced last year, no one else does an AM class but rF. rF saw that there were issues in how the AM class was run so they are changing it to try and better it. You are all acting like rF owes you a series and all the hard work they are putting into this new system your aren't even going to give a chance because "you know" its not going to be as good. I don't have a Pro license, I will not be able to make a 250 main, I have donated $100+ to rF, and I am not mad. I have tested this new system back when nationals were maybe at the halfway point, it worked perfectly fine and played fast. If you still hate the system after a few rounds then give them a reason why it was a bad experience for you and give them facts to help improve the system. What you guys are doing is whining about change and I'm tired of seeing it.

Anyone can come up and start hosting am races if they want. I think it would be cool to see some amateur national/arenacross type race series. I think rF just focusing on the pro races will give them more time to make it as best they can. Hopefully this will give someone the chance and motivation to start up an awesome new legit series for the amateurs.

Rob yet again you proved my point Read or Write in my sentence I used it define someone who can not write. Just stop we aren't getting anywhere. Brina I have already offered my help to run an am series, hopefully they get in touch with me soon.

Kinda funny the one person with some experience with this (non-rf) and says positive is getting ignored. And Brina is right, no one is stopping you from running it. If you'd like to donate enough to rF maybe they will pay someone to run a series for you. I think it's funny someone said they paid for the game so they deserve a series. I paid like many others before there was even true online play let alone a pro series. Is it best case scenario? Maybe, maybe not, but you don't have a leg to stand on to argue.

I would be willing to step up with a few people and get a small series rolling. Only thing is I haven't messed around to extensively with the servers or with RF to do it on my own.

All the ams are lucky as hell for what they are getting. Back in the good ol am days, this is what we got, a decently ran am class with a host who gave no fucks about the people in it and it was stacked as hell with sandbaggers, and we were so pumped and grateful for it and I'm happy that phat put it on or i probably would have left sim. What we got last year was amazing but it had many flaws that the new system is going to take out. The new system will be great, you guys just have to give it a shot.

Why does everyone except me know what this "system" is?? All I know is that AM is gone and they're using this, no idea how it fits into the Pro racing night but it has something to do with a points ranking system spread across two days. Not sure what it ranks you for.

Mark has explained it a few times but each time it gets buried by people complaining that it won't work. I found it again, hopefully people get a chance to read it this time.
Phathry25 wrote:Here's what I have heard....

Races will be split by "rF rating." Obviously the first few weeks you'll probably end up racing people at random since everyone will start with the same rating. As time passes the splits will work as designed and you'll be racing against people of like skill. In order for a rider to sandbag their rating they would have to consistently finish poorly in these races. Which can be done, but it's really not to their advantage, eventually they will start trying and winning and end up in a higher split.

10 races a day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 5 at Euro times, 5 at American times. I think they're doing one of each class, and then open. So starting at say 5PM whatever time there are 125 races, then at 6PM there are 250f races, then 250 2t races, then 450 races, and last a set of open class races. I would assume you can ride the smaller bikes if you'd like in the bigger bike classes too.

I don't see how 30 races a week is a downgrade from once a week like last year. Can anyone explain that rationale to me?
Phathry25 wrote:Yes points could be awarded. I'm not sure what's planned there, I can only tell you how I would do it.

Say 120 people sign up for the open class on Tuesday night. That makes 3 races of 40 people. So each of these three races will run a Heat race, an LCQ and a main event. Here's where things get fuzzy. Do you only award points to the main event participants, or to everyone who raced? It's easy enough to figure out where people that didn't make the main finished. I would award points all the way back. This way you still earn points for being there and trying. Then to differentiate between the top and bottom split you can take the average rF rating of each race and multiple their points awarded by that. So say the top split had an average rating of 1800, and the bottom split an average rating of 600. So the guys who are in the top split are awarded more points for their efforts.

So let's say I went with a 40 through 1 points system, 40 to win, 1 for last in the LCQ. They racer who wins the top split is awarded 40x18 or 720 points. The racer who wins the lowest split gets 40x6 or 240 points.
BUT THAT'S NOT FAIR THE BOTTOM SPLIT GUYS WILL NEVER WIN THE POINTS!
That's where the divisions come in. Lets say over the first 2 weeks of the season a total of 200 people participate and I decided to split the points up into 5 divisions. I would organize all the racers from highest to lowest rF rating, the top 40 are division 1, 41-80 are div 2, 81-120 div 3..... That way you are scored in a division against riders of like skill, and overall to see where you really stack up. The divisions are locked after they are set so you won't jump divisions from week to week. The first two weeks are used to measure participation. Anyone who joins after the divisions are set will be placed in the division where their rF rating fits in.
BUT WHAT ABOUT IF THE GUY IM BATTLING IN POINTS GETS INTO THE MIDDLE SPLIT AND I'M STILL IN THE BOTTOM SPLIT, HE'LL HAVE A BIGGER MULTIPLIER AND SCORE MORE POINTS THAN ME!
Actually even though he'll have a bigger multiplier, he'll also have stiffer competition and will likely score less points to have multiplied. It all evens out! :D And now that I think about it, that's why it is important to have all 40 riders score points.

Maybe it's the 20 posts I've made explaining it?...

Not sure why the FMX guys is talking about sandbaggers. There weren't enough people for it to matter.

Exactly, it'll sort out the classes way quicker than licences ever will. People should realize that with ARS there are like 30 races a week! Instead of just one that is not even for sure for most because of qualifying. Can't wait for it to get rolling, thanks a bunch RF and everyone working on it
