So, in short. I can still run "Wells Racing" because it's not an actual sponsorship, just a team name?

Team Barry is a great outlet of exposure for FLY Racing and sponsoring a team was something that they really wanted to do. Not only does it help keep the sponsor happy, but they also supported the community with extra swag as part of their deal to give to their team riders as a thank you for representing them. It's an outlet of exposure for our sponsors to give them their money's worth, and something we have setup to be able to manage, so I don't see why it should be taken away.

Perhaps we should work on a ranking system for teams to "pick" or get assigned sponsors, but I honestly would rather have that judgement call because there are some members that shouldn't be responsible for representing a company.

I do find it a bit funny that teams are always such a big topic of discussion when they don't have a ton of meaning as compared to the rest of the racing that goes on. Not that it's abad thing.
For SURE I will be looking at what teams do well in the standings when offering sponsorship support, as well as respectable teams...Don't want to offer a great company sponsor to a team of shitheads who are going to piss away the sponsor rep (Example: Team _____ are a bunch of asshole cheaters) like I said currently sponsored teams will most likely keep their sponsorship, unless they do something to lose it, such as MotoOption, Motosport, Fly Racing, etc The teamless sponsors will be used to approach other teams who don't have a sponsor, and it is up to them to accept it, or remain a custom team. I really don't think it is going to affect things much, other than some teams will have to be creative and think of a custom name (Whipstyle, Team Masacre, WCR, Barry, FSK, ETC), rather than trying to use "Team Rockstar Energy Monster Kawasaki Pro Circuit"

Also most likely Smaller MXS related companies (System Decal, Adept, ETC) that can not really afford to sponsor merch, but are members of the community etc will be sponsoring teams as well, and we can think of other things for them to help out with :)

Thanks to those who support the change, and to those who don't, hopefully it grows on you. If the majority of people seem to hate the idea genuinely after some time has passed, rF can just drop teams all together from the website/standings/live stream as another method of fixing the injustice to our current sponsors. Also, again, this really doesn't go in effect for current teams til after Nationals.

Absolutely, we encourage Custom Team Names, and again you can run WHATEVER sponsors you want on your skins and everything, that is 100% on you, and you are liable for, you just need to find your own way to promote those sponsors to keep them happy, or maybe they don't care and you just asked to use their name and are getting nothing, or maybe they don't know about it, which again you are liable for not us. Basically we are just saying rF won't be mentioning any sponsors not affiliated with rF on our site, reviews, or broadcasts, so have a custom team name if you are not using a sponsor we offered to you.

I like where this is going, actually. I have a feeling this will cause expansion, because it will force teams to use other outlets such as media to keep their sponsors happy. This will mean more YouTube Videos, Facebook pages, twitter, etc. More networking = Mx Sim and rF Grow.

Good idea. MLG did this back in 2008, they didn't allow Sponsors to be ran in Halo team names anymore, causing a lot of team name changes. The league itself benefited, while MLG gained the attention of ESPN in the process, and other large sponsors such as Dr. Pepper, Stride Gum, etc.

This is the same model, and it will work out for you guys.

I don't see Intrinzic as being any different from Adept or System Decal, and fully plan to work something out.

Dictatorship? Its their series, they make up the rules. No one is forcing you to race it. You think they are just making this shit up to piss people like you off? Theres rhyme and reason.

Dont know if it has been mentioned, but 180 decals is listed on the site already, so technically that would be fine to keep the name no hassle?
