After outdoors... (Not a race, just thinking. Contribute!)

Post by Ddavis »

Hey guys I've been trying to think of a fun series in the Fall that maybe rF can host after outdoors ends. I heard that the "Supercross Open" may not happen, or the Fall Local Series, and I have no idea if Winter Indoor is going to continue, but I was thinking a fun series should be put on with different styles of tracks and classes being produced that hopefully everybody can have fun racing. Eliminate the normal tracks that rF uses in these series (Lake County, Fort Winton, Hollister GP, Boneville, County Fair, etc etc)

I was thinking of series that would be pretty cool, with different formats in each round.

Tracks considering:
Loretta Lynn's 2012: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17149
Avalon Brush Off-Road: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19894 (Probably would lag too much)
ASXT: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21613 (Fun on a 50)
Private Test Track: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21859 (Gnarly SX and MX tracks by 137)
Hawk Point MX: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21829 (Local track feel)
Lexington SX Mud: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18559
Enduro Island: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22653
Chadstone MX: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic. ... =Chadstone
Bankeboda Enduro: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9242 (The Motocross track, super sandy!)
Any of the GETHIGH type tracks to make a SURVIVAL race!
Give your opinion

Idea's for races/classes:
Open class, 125-450, C license holders get a 15 second headstart, then B class goes, then 15 seconds later A class goes. 10 laps. (Probably on one of the shorter tracks around 1:30 lap times). 2 moto format. Points scored by riders license/placing of position even if they're separated by another licensed rider.

Open 50 class, any license, everybody goes. 4 laps. 3 moto format. Points scored by riders license/placing of position etc.

125 Stock class! Everybody on the same type of bike, same gearing, etc (you can do that, right?). 10 laps. 2 moto format.

Vintage class! Must ride a bike that is 2008 or older. 8 laps. 2 moto format.

Elimination races. If there is more than 20 riders, there is a 5 lap dash where the top 20 moves onto the elimination format. From there, bottom 3 are eliminated from each round: 20 riders, then 17, then 14, then 11, then 8, then 5. The last 5 riders will do a 10 lap main. This will be separated into C/B/and Pro.

Survival! One of the GET HIGH tracks, last man standing wins! Or something like that, maybe even custom make a gnarly track raised real high with vertical walls where once you fall off you are done!

__________________________________________________________

I think it would be fun for all of us, no matter the class or seriousness. Fast guys like to have fun, and slower guys want to get better. This would be a fun way to get better and also just have fun.

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT in the works by rF, this is just me trying to be creative and think of a fun series that everybody can be involved with, have a chance at winning, and not see the same winner every race.

The point of rF not running events wasn't because we didn't like the events we were running, it was to have a break from running events and focus on the most important ones vs. running a bunch, getting burnt out, and going away all together.

Not saying this in a mean way Devin, but you are talented if you set your mind to something, have you ever though of trying to give hosting a shot? Start with something small and see how it goes. You're at the races most of the time, why not start running some legit stuff?

I was thinking the same thing whenever I see your name :?

I see Jon commented too, it was more of a joke, sort of like Wayne's World "If you build it they will come". I did have a dream though where people were riding and I was trying to host the event. and failed.

I haven't done any hosting yet, but I'd love to try! I'd just need to learn the scripts and have someone else run the server... My computer sucks too much to run a server. Lol. So if you can't find a host, I should be able to do it

Round 1
Chadstone MX - Vintage class. Must ride bike that is 2007/2006. We don't really have vintage bikes d:
Round 2
Knockout 2 - C class goes, wait 15 seconds, B class goes, wait 15 seconds, A class goes. Points separated by license.
Round 3
Moto 1: GETHIGH3 - Survival, if you can finish you win. Open bike size, points separated by license.
Moto 2: GETHIGH4 - Survival, if you can finish you win. Open bike size, points separated by license.
Moto 3: ASXT - 50 Open. 5 laps.
PS: Edit the tracks where if you go off the track you can't get back on anywhere. Truly last man standing.
Round 4
Hawk Point MX - 125 class. 2 motos. 20 min + 1 lap.
Round 5
Lexington SX Mud - Elimination race. Last 3 eliminated from each race until 5 are left. 2 lap dash!
Round 6
Smoothened out Red Bud or something, normal classes. 125 C, 250 B, Open Pro.

Just ideas, not doing this unless I figure out how to host races.

Sween ran races for YEARS without using scripts. They aren't a requirement. Keep it simple, run some stuff that you are comfortable with first and gradually get into it.
