I am practicing on how to bake norms i just asked if damien can do i because he is a better modeler than mem121c wrote:I'm not saying anything it just seems pointless to learning 3d modeling if you don't want to learn how to bake normal maps. It's kind of part the workflow.

well you dont have to bake the norms all by yourself but it is good to know how to model and especially how to unwrapp a model in order to get good baking results. Just like m121c said
Tennis, Basketball and Baseball all requires one ball
Motocross requires two!

Cycles is just a different render engine that the basic engine Blender defaults to. Previously you could only bake in the normal internal engine, but you will soon be able to bake from Cycles too.Andy_Hack wrote:I am just curious cause i never worked with blender, what does it do?

@MX985 The helmet looks pretty good, but it is way too long. Also I feel like the chin bar, or whatever you call the front of the helmet, is a little taller.

That looks really good to me. Are the buckles modeled or skinned on? You can probably get away with a few extra faces to give them some substance.

I used Zbrush to make a base. Then I used 3ds max for retopo. And after, I use 3ds max/Zbrush to add some details to the high poly model.m121c wrote:Nice job Maxime! Did you sculpt them first and then retopo them? Looks really clean!
