Looks pretty good to me. Maybe add more rounded detail to the edges of the seat so that it doesn't look like its completely flush with the rest of the bike. Also, if you are going to the stock look, you might want to add the heat shield on the header?

About skinning, you should do something similar to what DDMX and DJ did with their bikes.... have a skin contest and only accept good ones. It has seemed to work out well in terms of skin quality.

It does do that. Just not as prominent as he made it out to be.

Yeah, i like that it uses that texture, but when you make, say, graphics, with the little logos, its helps to show stretching better than that texture. Atleast i think so.

Yeah, at first, i was going to put the heat shield on, but i asked Bill (Hvpunk), and he said it would look gay, so i haven't put it on. I do want to make a stock bike, so that would make sense to put it on. I can, if you guys think i should, i want to know if i should put it on the stock bike. Then i can also release a modded (adjusted) bike, without it on. The modded bike would also have after market parts and so on.

Yeah, i think i'm going to have the bike skin done by my buddys and I, then have the graphics done by the community. So pretty much just like DJ. Unlike DDMX, because the community won't have to do the whole bike.

Thanks for finding that mistake, and for giving me a nice picture. I'll fix it in a little bit.

-------

I started this model about an hour after posting the crf preview yesterday, and i think i've already finished it haha. It's the HJC SPX/SPXN Helmet, i have the red white and blue one in real life, and it's been sitting on my computer desk while i modeled this. I've also got some 2003 (i think, i got them from a pro rider a long time ago haha) Spy goggles with it, so that's what i made for goggles. I've made a head model in the helmet too, with a nose and chin, i don't think i need any more detail than that. If i should change it, let me know. With the helmet, goggles, and head (everything) it's 998 polygons.

Here is the helmet on HJC's website:

And after i fix that problem with the back fender, and seat on the Crf, i will start unwrapping the helmet. Leave your thoughts, comments, and criticism.

Wow, pretty lengthy post, ey?

for the face part : eyes if goggles are not mirror ;) (the face dont need to be that high poly since its not realy showing there a lot, just some basic thing.)
i have one irl too!
that thing looks good, only thing is, is that visor like weldet there :S seems like it has no edge for the visor ;(
But still it looks dope and i want it :D

For the crf header thing, you can make it, just make it so it can be alpha out of there?
easy :) (atleast that's how i would make it)

Yeah, i think if the eyes are skinned, and the goggle lense are clear, it will still look good.

The visor is actually made so it's flush with the shell of the helmet. The visor actually locks into the shell of the helmet, that's why you don't seen any visor bolts. And even though there is a seam, it would be a waste of polys, a normal map would make it look perfect.

It does, you just can't see it, because the shading from wings isn't showing it good enough.

I can just duplicate the model, and change pipes for each one, so i can make more than one pipe. But i don't know how big the file size would be with a few different models.

Thank you guys for the comments, if we keep going, this model will be close to perfect when it's all done (hopefully).
