Re: Upcoming Models
Lets keep it ON TOPIC guys.... take all of your trash talking, bickering, and whatever to the off topic forums... this topic is cluttered with so much useless junk that i just had to go through and clean up.

Ya. As I said, the reflections are much neater, and the side number plates have much better curvature, and produces its own shading alot bettertyskorn wrote:Looks better.Do they look any different in game though?
Re: Upcoming Models
Cool.Sounds nice.

Re: Upcoming Models
You can really tell a difference on the plates and shrouds/tank on both bikes. Did you add or delete any polys/verts or just move around existing ones?DJ wrote:MessiaH wrote:Mhmm. The shrouds could use a clean up. At least, there is something very funky going on with the faces there. You can clearly see that in the last ingame shot you've shown us.
At all times, you could keep your mesh "flowing". Even if that means a extra polygon or two.
So yeah, I sorta ignored this statement at first, but with the shaders now in the game, it was completely correct. So, I decided to clean up the plastics on both the YZF and YZ, and it has made every aspect of the shading (diffuse, specular and reflections) much cleaner. And has also allowed me to curve the rear number plates much better. Here is a before and after shot of the fixed faces. You can sorta see from these shots the change it has made on the shading

I will update all my models once i get the specular and normal maps done (which is happening extremely slowly). I'll try and clean up a few other things while I'm at it (the linkage for one)
This motivates me to continue my 125 skin

Yeah, I think there has been an increase of 200ish triangles on both bikes, which is totally worth it
Re: Upcoming Models
Ah ok, that's not too big of an increase, well worth it.

Re: Upcoming Models
So once you are done, it will be one big object in game? Or will it be split into peices like previous stadiums.
Re: Upcoming Models
Nice. Splitting it up would probably make it easier to texture
Re: Upcoming Models
Yeah, lol, i will wilson. I just duplicated it a bunch and stretched it to make it look like something for a render, hehe.

10-14 years old? No. Try 14-17 if anything.
