Re: Upcoming Models #2
The word polygons is a bit vague to me. That could be a mix of triangles and squares. I cannot see how it would be possible to make a bike that detailed with such a low triangle count. The YZF is 5500 quads and triangles (when triangles can convert to quads), or 10300 triangles.ddmx wrote:Wow, i was almost 100% correct, haha. 99.39% correct to be exact, lol.
And theres only a few places where you could have used normal mapping instead of extra faces. Probably would have saved 1000 tris max. Normal maps cant do everyting for you

Re: Upcoming Models #2
Wont post x5 i think we all want it...
But here's where im at now.

Now currently about 1300-1400 poly's whole thing, after triangulated (Sorry if i got it wrong) about 2500-3500. .don't remember so shure.
(i have done the plastics on piece of paper when i was at lunch at work...they are good...still adjusting)
Missing parts (some are minor)
Fork
Plastics
Bar
All bar components
Gear/Rear brake pedal (don't know the right word maybe that's the one)
More hoses/electric stuff
Silencer must go change (also the whole pipe need more work when i get these more important things done.)
Chain.
CLEANUP!
Thats all that i can think now,
after these its just checking how the poly's go and then detail ingress/degrees
After im done with it i would like to put up a contest Name/skin... cause i have NO idea of the name, and skins are not my ...speciality
Hope to get this shaded AND mapped, cause there's still people who need the shading bad (caused by lack of computer power)

Shift lever/ Brake lever.Duckstream wrote: Gear/Rear brake pedal (don't know the right word maybe that's the one)
Just one thing that should definetly be changed: The mouth of the silencer, just select that plane or something and move it upward, so it is at an angle with the rest of the silencer.Duckstream wrote: Silencer must go change (also the whole pipe need more work when i get these more important things done.)
I love shading things... but to keep up graphically, im going to need to start mapping, it's a shameDuckstream wrote: Hope to get this shaded AND mapped, cause there's still people who need the shading

But i think that is also good to have it shaded, for people who dont run shaders.
Good job, keep it up, it looks like you have a nice base.

Thank you for correcting me there, i tought lever is more handlebar things.TimFerry15 wrote:Good job, keep it up, it looks like you have a nice base.
The silencer i redo the whole thing i accidentally moved the mouth piece...I redo it tomorrow maybe same time i start some stuff (Detail and the plastics finally)
The shading i want it cause your right there is people who don't have shaders and are poor/don't want to buy new card.
So its nice to have both.
Thanks for the comments, i will keep it up i want it alive! (also planing to make those plastics im talking about for a real bike and see how they look.
Fiber class maybe and Machinery class)

I hope you noticed the stretching on the cutout of the shroud. Also two little slashes above and below the shroud on the tank. Might be a UV error or maybe just skinning?
Looks great though, and the two-stroke collection is nearly complete.

Other than the two little errors noted by cpt, bike looks sick!
