2011 Yamaha YZ250 2-Stroke
Re: 2011 Yamaha YZ250 2-Stroke
Nah, Im serious. I was always given half a model to finish. I cant model bikes well from scratch. Im just really good at polishing them off.

You mean that you didn't make the whole 2010 YZ?

Ok i made a spring using the curve tool and the spring added about 7000 polys

Re: 2011 Yamaha YZ250 2-Stroke
Even though springs use a lot of polys, 7000 is obviously too much.
In Wings3d, I just use the spring object to make the shock spring. I don't know what Blender has that compares. The spring should roughly be 4 polys round (square), 6-8 segments making up one loop, and 8 loops.
This should make the spring around 250 polys.

Re: 2011 Yamaha YZ250 2-Stroke
Once again, wouldn't you want to make your whole senior project by yourself?

Yes, there isHAMMERDOWN wrote:Hey DJ is there a special tool in Blender to create a spring for the rear shock?

I used the same profile as in the first figure with the circle and vertical line (you'll probably want to reduce the number of vertices in the circle to 5-6 to ensure it is not too high poly). Place the cursor on one end of the vertical line. Change the values to : Deg = 360, Steps 6-8 (according to t-ferry), and # of loops to 8 (according to t-ferry). Then just click screw, and you'll have a nice spring.
