Maybe you could make it so its easy to extract BUT you have to set a password so only you or who ever u give the password to can open it... just an idea.

passwords get passed around, just like templates, and bike models. Sorry, but terrible idea.

Thats the same arguement for the original gear files.

Don't pass em out if you don't want other people to have them. Pretty simple eh?

The people who do pass them around, then get all pissy and threaten to sue people over it, well them people just ain't got no brains.

If you give your car keys to someone you really don't know, and say hey take this for a spin and let me know how you like it, and then they don't come back with your car, you have to accept some of the blame. You willingly gave them the keys. If you don't want your stuff spread around, there is only 1 sure fire way to fix it. Don't give it out before it is finished. With that being said, you want to give betas to people to make sure there are no problems with whatever it may be, and see what they think of it. Fresh eyes may see a problem that you hadn't seen. This sort of puts the creators in a catch-22 situation. There have always been and always will be people in this world that couldn't be trusted with a loaf of bread. If you give your work to one of these said people, sorry but you shouldn't have given it to them. That definitely doesn't take the blame off of the person who did wrong by passing the stuff on, but you did willingly give it to them. There are about 3 people on here that I trust giving my stuff to, excluding moderators, and you know who you are because I have given you stuff in the past. Not going to name names or anything. Bottom line is fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This is not the first time something has been taken and passed around without the creators consent, and sadly it probably won't be the last time. If you willingly give someone one of you creations and that person passes it around, sorry but you shouldn't have given it to them.

NOt to be disrespectful. But Gio really needs to just chill out yes i know it might be a tiny bit frustrating when some one takes your boots but what stocky said is right he cant sue any because he probably did not get any permission from alpinestar in the first place. So if he sued he would be in more trouble then the person he tryed to sue.
