Site lap in AMA Supercross and Pro Nationals
This has probably been suggested before since it seems like a pretty obvious thing to consider to do with simulator. But how hard would it be to have Mx Simulator to the "track map hot lap" for the Pro Supercrosses and Nationals on Tv each week. It may be difficult, but the game DOES do the track replicas, and it IS realistic. It would Definitely open up the game to ALOT more players. I'm not forsure on this but i think the track maps are sponsered by, but we could make the skin have "THAT" sponser as the main logo and maybe also on the bar pad? I don't know just a thought!

For SX, this is already done and usually posted with the track release.
Craig has been kind enough to put together a fast lap video each week of whoever runs the fastest lap during the nationals.

I know i realize that, what i am talking about is getting a connection to 'take' that video each week and have it on tv as the track map for the Real supercrosses. Maybe i didnt explain that well enough. Where mxs gets advertisement on real tv. Speed, fuel, etc.

We tried to make it a thing in SX. But only half did it and the other half just tried to race the lap.

What do you mean by 'race the lap'? And when? It would be badass to have a hotlap shown on speed.Mikey wrote:We tried to make it a thing in SX. But only half did it and the other half just tried to race the lap.
yeah, but that's also more money that Jlv can make, and with more money means happier jlvjason_pama wrote:This would be pretty cool BUT im thinking that when we have more players, more the noobs

That was more talking about what Stormz was. But in the 2mins-ish of warm-up, It's either a cool parade lap or a 1 lap dash to the finish.bc45 wrote:What do you mean by 'race the lap'? And when? It would be awesome, for sure. But, you just take any hot lap from Qualifying though for the hotlap.

Re: Site lap in AMA Supercross and Pro Nationals
I think a few of yall are on a different page than OP. I'm pretty sure he means he wants to basically watch a real supercross or outdoor race on TV and before the gate drops of each moto, when they show the track map with the (used to be red) green arrow, they replace that all together with a hotlap from MX Simulator on the replicated track.
Honestly, I think that would be pretty awesome. I never thought about it before but maybe it would be possible. Some things that would have to be done though is some cooperation between track makers whoever they get a real track map from. Because they can't show a hotlap of mx sim and the track have an old section that's not there anymore.
If it ever did happen, MXS would certainly be more well known and probably become THE GAME of AMA. Tracks would also most likely start getting even better since track makers would want it to look its best for viewers of TV.
There's surely tons more details but surface level thought sounds really awesome, I think!

+100000 THANK YOU! sorry it was hard to explain it that well! and about how you said this, "Some things that would have to be done though is some cooperation between track makers whoever they get a real track map from. Because they can't show a hotlap of mx sim and the track have an old section that's not there anymore." I've noticed in this past year's supercrosses that even though track maps weren't "Always" completely right! I think just having the original replica wouldn't be so bad, or just have a forum to moniter the track builder's at the stadium, "show pictures etc." to see whether any sections get changed. because if our "sim replica" get's released monday, that gives you at least until thursday or friday before you would have to get it to them.Uollie wrote:I think a few of yall are on a different page than OP. Yeah, let's just call up the TV companies and make this happen.

Re: Site lap in AMA Supercross and Pro Nationals
Yeah you're right, often enough the track looks so much different on the green arrow preview that I hardly would recognize the track if I hadn't been watching racing for 15 or so years.
There's still a lot of problems though. If they really cared how accurate a 1 min computer generated lap was, they would just use real helmet cam footage, which happens sometimes, and they still majorly show the crappy green arrow.
It seems to me that there would need to be a lot of convincing to a lot of people. I don't think there would be any profit for JLV either, other than a larger audience now sees his game on television. But that still sounds pretty awesome to me to have your game set the tone of the day before watching a race on tv. I think it's a really awesome idea, I can even imagine a brief highlight section before gate drops to show points standings of MXS sanctioned events. How can you resist not buying the game and wanting to get your name on tv?

A few things...
It's an old co-worker and a good friend of mine who currently does the track maps and we had quite a few talks with FELD when I was at THQ about us potentially building them again along with avenues to promote our product with them, so I've been able to know a decent bit of the ins and outs.
Even when they were the MX vs ATV track maps (2004-ish during MX Unleashed period) they didn't want a bike going around the track. The arrow and an overhead animation is what they want.
These are sold sponsorships. For a cool $250,000 (guesstimate with a bit of info) MXSimulator could be the track map sponsor. It could probably be negotiated down to $200,000 if MXS was providing the track maps.
Consistency and visual quality is key.
I think it would infact grow the game, but it would also more than likely not happen and stir up a whole shit load of hot coals along the way. Let's just say things got a little tense just doing "Virtual Laps" for Vurb when rF first started pushing them.

Thank you so much for giving us a more realistic view on it. Yeah i had no idea what it would take to do it but now i have a better perspective on it. And what kind of issues were you getting from vurbmoto? Sorry just curious!checkerz wrote:A few things...
