I just have two that are a more important at this point than added features.jlv wrote:Aside from what you mentioned, here's what I can think of:DJ wrote:On the topic of major updates, whats the next 'big thing' you plan on adding to the game? I know you planned on making stuff that uses the shaders and friction, as well as fixing up the FBO code and adding rider shadows, but any ideas to what you may do after that? I can't think of anything you may do, other than ragdoll physics, or playing with sounds again
- Better stabilization. I have a couple of ideas that I want to try.
- Stand alone track editor.
- Variable resolution in the height field so you can define fine detail without blowing tons of memory.
- Randomly generated terrain outside the field. Or possibly multiple height fields modifying a huge random terrain.
- Multithreaded ray tracing renderer if Larrabee becomes popular.
1- know its been said but the personal folder needs redone because right now it is a major headache, we need folders for bikes, riders, tracks, for those that do modelling, skinning and pretty much all creation it gets annoying trying to find all your files amidst 300 files of stuff, and to me it would make sense to do this before you get too far with code and stuff or else it might be hard to implement later.
2- Again i know this has been said before but a new menu system is a must, i would rather have that at this point than any other feature, its a joke trying to figure out what track is what, and what skin your picking. there are some guys around here that are very talented with gui and i dont think it would hurt to let them help with implementing a new gui. I really think this game needs the new gui especailly if you want more people to come to this game. Its only going to get worse with more bikes tracks skins in general if there isnt some improvements in these two areas.
