Re: Game Suggestions
Could there perhaps be an option for the auto transmission to not use first gear? I have to turn off the sound to ride the auto, it just doesn't sound right to wind out 1st gear in the whoops, out of every turn, etc... Plus realistically that would destroy a motor in one lap. I know a lot of ppl make heavy use of first gear, and to not use 1st gear could be considered a disadvantage, but in my opinion it would be more realistic. The supercross demo's would then not only look but also sound exactly how a MX bike can tear apart a sx track.
Re: Game Suggestions
sounds wierd, why not just use manual shifting

Re: Game Suggestions
watching sx last night on tv i got an idea: why don't disable the reverse steering mechanism at very low/no speed?
in real life bikes can make very tight turns at almost no speed.
i find it almost impossible to do it ingame, so since i think everyone uses reverse steering (at normal pace it's almost impossible to ride without it) why not having to disable that option when i'm stopped or when i want to perform a almost zero speed turn?
not to mention when for example i got stuch in a rythm section..impossible to steer in the right direction pin the gas and go, i have to turn the other way and perform 3/4 of a turn the opposite way insted of 1/4 in the right way, because the bar tends to follow the terrain slope instead of following my direction until i reach a certain speed.
suggestion number 2.
would it be possible to have a sort of online ranking?
right now we're just racing for nothing, there's nothing official and that can stay in time.
there already is a sort of tracking system on servers so i think is possible to implement.
i thought of it in almost every little detail:
first, when we buy the game we receive the key of course and we have to register on this "tracker/ranking" mechanism with our username password and key, so everytime we enter a race we begin to accumulate stats, like favorite track, favorite bike, best times in each track etc, and stuff like best placement in online races, winning percentage, second place percentage etc, so when someone wants to know something about another rider he can find everything in thig global ranking.
this will prevent changing of username from goons and stupid kids that go online just to be annoying, and will be a step forward in piracy prevention (i think).
maybe add something like official trophies, like the supercross tournament that is going on now, at the end the winner gets a trophy badge on his online ranking profile..
i'm thinking of it from a long time but thought it was useless.
hope all this makes sense

Re: Game Suggestions
The turning thing would be much easier for new riders, but with time you would learn to automatically steer to the "wrong direction" at slow speeds. That's the case with me atleast, but I've played this game for who knows how long
(I don't use the auto correction feature, so I have had to learn how to spin my bike around quickly to right direction)

I don't know if you know about this site, but it has somekind of statistics (lap records; win,top3 and top10 percentages etc.) from jlv's servers, and it uses the reg.key(i think) to recognise the racers. Of course more data, like fav bike and track, would always be nice

Re: Game Suggestions
yes i was referring to that tracking system!
as for reverse steering is just unnatural that you have to steer the other way around only at low speed.
i know i could get used to it, but it's just weird i mean, when i want to turn right i'd like to be able to push the stick to the right regardless the speed.
and another thing, why not having two fov sliders in the options screen?
one for riding and one for watching demos

That is a great idea! it's annoying having to change every time you take screen shots..giopanda wrote:yes i was referring to that tracking system!

Re: Game Suggestions
i was talking about something like the old aao tracker from when i used to play americas army, anyway bf2stats is the same exact thing and that's what i was talking about, very detailed stats for every rider, with awards in case of "official" tournaments etc

Re: Game Suggestions
The amount of times that we have had the reverse steering argument...
The fact is, that is what really happens in real life.

Re: Game Suggestions
i know it has been said many times..but this is not real life
i know in real life i perform different actions to gain the same results, but it's unconscious, noone thinks "ok now i'm gonna steer this way to go to the opposite way", you just do it, and the result is that you think "steer right" and the bike steers right.
but this is no real life and i'd like to be able to steer right pushing the stick to the right, always, because there's no body movement, no weight shifting and no inner ear interaction, only my thumb on the stick.
hope this makes sense and you got what i mean

Re: Game Suggestions
i understand what you mean, and im sure DJ and JLV and everyone else does too. but, its a simulator... everything should be as real as it can be.
at least you have a reverse steering option
