4 stroke vs 2 Stroke

Which one do you like better. 4 stroke vs 2 stroke.
by far in my mind 2 strokes are better lets hear your oppinions

Everybody is going to need to agree to disagree on this topic. When I started riding, I had never rode a 4 stroke, so I loved my 125, then I sold that and got a 250 2 stroke, loved it even more. Sold the 250 and bought a 450 4 stroke and love it now. A lot of newer riders will say 4 stroke, the older riders will say 2 stroke. They both do the same thing in a different way. Engine braking, 4 strokes have it and 2 strokes don't. On a MX track, I'd take a 4 stroke, in the woods, I'd take a 2 stroke. Overall, I think I like a 2 stroke, the snap of the power, more of an adrenaline rush, the sound, the smell, and of course how much it weighs. 4 strokes just get the job done, plain and simple.

I'm riding 2 stroke ,its beast,i rode just twice with 4 stroke and i love it,its so much easier to ride.

2 stroke because I have more fun riding it on practice days, but when i go out to a race, I use a 4 stroke, sometimes 2 stroke if im bored and wanna have fun:P

2 stroke, just funner to ride. and im in love with my 250cr, nothing beats the deep sound of a 250 two stroke :]. but i like four strokes too, my dad has a crf 450, that thing is a blast to ride too! personally i just have more fun on two strokes, but i love em both

i currently ride a 10 yz250f and what can i say, i love how they sound and hearing rev limiter makes my hair stand on end and on the 4strokes you have all that power and traction right there, i love the way they feel and how they pull. but yet im selling my 250f why? because im getting a 250 smoker i would love to keep the 4t but there to much money. after recently falling and bending my silencer i saw that the stock silencer is $675 and i gasped in disbelief and i decided that four strokes are better if your factory or are supported really well, buy your parents or somebody but if. you just want to haul a$$ with minimal maintenance 2 strokes all day and you cant beat that crisp sound and smell of a finely tuned two stroke on amsoil!!

When I want a bike that has a peaky powerband and offers entertainment in a sort of do-you-have-the-balls-to-keep-it-on-the-pipe sort of way, I ride my two-stroke. When I want a bike that has a very smooth powerband with lots of torque on command from any RPM, I go for my other two-stroke.

I'm lucky enough to ride a crf450r and a 2009 yz250 equally (my brother and I swap bikes constantly, makes me wonder who owns which bike sometimes), and they each have their advantages. The 2-stroke is undeniably more entertaining because of the uneven torque curve, ie. it has a powerband. You have a child like anticipation of the powerband kicking in that makes 2-strokes freakin awesome to ride. It seriously makes you grin JUST before you hit the power band. I'm smiling just thinking about it.
Whereas, the 4 stroke is like a f&$cking thug. It's always there ready to punch you in the face, no matter the revs or gear. It's reliably powerful. It's brutal when you ask it to be. But when you get used to it, it can feel tame and smoothly powerful, unlike the 2-stroke, which will always keep you on your toes.

So take your pick. They're both insanely good. We are all just really lucky to live in an age where ridiculously powerful bikes (and arguably un-useably powerful, except for the pros) are available at a reasonably affordable price for the more financially affluent among the worlds people. I know that I shake my head and count my lucky stars every time I get on a 110kg, 55 horsepower 2 wheeled vehicle. It's awesome, we are all so fortunate

Well, this lucky age has been going on for 40 years. There are bikes made in 1975 that would redefine everyone's idea of "too much power." The only difference is, back then they were all two-strokes. Now, we finally have an age in which one can buy a four-stroke that's fast enough to be scary. That's never really happened until just ten years ago.

But you're right. In the grand scheme, it's really amazing to think that someone was smart enough to develop a way in which a ridiculously small piece of metal could move around in a tube, and THAT little thing can get you from 0-60 faster than a jet airliner. On the dirt!
