You have no idea how much time I have spent wanting that. :D

That would be perfect for sand tracks. :D

Yeah I was joking cause that would be way too many calculations for todays computers. It would be sweet though if someday that was doable.

Or getting a cockpit cage thing they have for car racing games.

Like this:

Have it so you lean it over, and it'd rotate you on a turn table to make it feel like your getting pushed into the rut. Have it so you can whip it and shit.

I don't know how standing/sitting would work though. Maybe have those ball sensors on your body, and it does your exact movements in game as you are in the simulator.

I don't think it would.

Well, it might, but if you have a stationary screen,(relative to you), then I don't think it would be that bad.

Sort of like Flight Simulators, the ones you climb inside and test fly. Like what NASA has for their shuttle training.

Soft contact for the ground would be pretty easy. It already does that to a certain extent to simulate tire pressure.

I have about 90% of the server code written and 20% of the client code written. It's still at least a couple of weeks away.

few quick suggestions that shouldnt be too much work but make a world of difference.

regarding demos.fast forward!. have a strafe option for the free cam . have a follow button for the free look camera that will always look towards the bike you have selected, would make it easier for slow mo following, just set it to a point on the map and press "p" or something and it will automatically look towards the bike you are watching in the other views.

I've thought about TV style cameras. Like when you make a track, you can place camera points around the track. When watching a replay it would select the closest camera point to the rider you are following (or you could set the timing gates to each camera, little like the flaggers I think), and the camera would of course follow the rider automatically. Hope this made some sense to you.

And why its should be MX-close ? ,i think for now its best mx game in planet!
by Motoboss on Sun Jan 25, 2009 10:23 am

Well i wouldnt call it the best game on the planet
For me right now its the most frustrating on the planet.
The game has a ways to go before Ide call it realistic'
You need to be able to do things alot easier as of right now nothing is easy on Mx Sim
and the words" Just practice more" just doesnt cut it ,ive been playing it since the game came out and that is not the issue
The physics need alot of work.. pretty much all the game is about right now is doing great whips.
Falling over for every lttle thing is not sim or realistic
Ive raced motocross and this game has a long way to go before I would say its like real racing...Falling over at slow speeds is one of the MAJOR issues of this game and I cant see why it hasnt been fixed yet.
I commend jlv on what hes doin but Idk if he has ever raced in real life or what
Riding a motorcycle is not HARD at all its just like riding a bike the only place where it gets hard to ride is on rough terrain, high speeds,or over jumps which takes skill, Controlling the bikes power is also something that every MX game has over looked but plays a major roll in real life and thats something else I dont understand .. that alone would make the game awsome
......I think the problem is hes listening to the wrong people

The game is not gonna get any better unless you speak up
Im not saying this to make people mad it is just the truth and some people dont like hearing that ... Im sorry but thats the only way your gonna get results
by FactoryBR21 on Sun Jan 25, 2009 11:44 am

Yes , i agree with you by parts
There is a point , ride a bike is not that hard since you ride it slow and smooth without bumps and ruts but its turn out hard when you are racing and you have to be fast on bumps , jumps ruts and shit then i'd say thats pretty hard , everybody know that motocross is not a easy sport but i mean that when you ride slow on MXS is more hard than when you're fast
I feel sorry as my english but i think that everyone can understand what i'm mean
by Kawasakis on Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:03 pm

In real life motocross is hard, like fear factor or something like that and on game you can go wide open and you didnt scare,or maybe when you racing in game than you little scare to dont crash.. ,but in real life you like always scare to crash or something like that..
by Motoboss on Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:10 pm

I agree with you factory

Kawasawksi I dont know if your agreeing with me or not
but your basically backing up what I said as in you agree that controlling the bike at high rates of speed is hard and that throttle controll should be a factor

I don't understand, do you mean throttle control? I'm pretty sure almost every aspect of control in this game is controllable (i don't have an analogue controller myself but have used the mouse which gives huge amounts of control)I could use the mouse to control the throttle easily and i could slowly feed in the clutch (giving extra power control) or have it slipping all the way round the track if i wanted
