Track editor?

somewhat new to the game and sorry if this question is somewhere else... but where is the track editor? and what do you start with? i seem to just keep finding things to download...

go to a mx simulator shortcut, right click and go to properties. Go to the target and at the end put *space*--editor
Then open the game and start a new race on whatever track you want to edit and press *tab* a few times. The editor will pop up.

How the hell do you use this editor?

I don't have the slightest what to do with it to actually get anything near a track
