Re: Upcoming Models #2
can you show us a different angle paul. like the other side and maybe back end?
Re: Upcoming Models #2
Maybe its just me but the number board looks fine.... It goes down to the bottom triple clamp nearly exactly the same as the pics you showed.
Maybe move the fender up? It seems to be floating below the bottom triple clamp.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
Boblob is right actually. The front fender needs to be higher up in the triple clamps because the crfs have a stepped fender. Just moving it up on your model isnt going to fix the problem though I dont think because then the front fender will be too high above the wheel.
You'd probably need to move the bottom clamp down a bit, the fender up a bit and increase the length of the number board slightly and then also increase the length of the head tube.

FMF 4.1 RCT Megabomb system for the KTM. Just need to skin the header and then on to the maps. Any tips or feedback?
I also plan on making the PC Ti-5 next.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
so sick! jlv just needs to make it so we can change pipes on any bike like we can our wheels.
you should fix the akrapovic header while your at it.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
Might as well. I was gonna add the spring that connects the 2 peice header but I figured it would be over kill and it wasn't really necessary. I plan on doing diffrent pipes and some other parts for maybe a "Race works bike" releaase. Parts like skidplate, holeshot device, vented stadium plate, gold ohlins forks, and some others. Just throw ideas at me.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
Dont bother with the vented front plate, they look gash and no one will use it. How many Honda skins have you seen released with the vented front plate that shredder made?
Re: Upcoming Models #2
Thats because shredder never released it.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
haha I didnt realise that
If you want to model one then go ahead but there are other things that people would appreciate a lot more in my opinion.

Re: Upcoming Models #2

I was checking out Attacker's KTM model and was suprised at how many polygons/tris were used. So I decided to remake the body plastics, and hopefully save some polygons.
The result:
Original - 2512 tris
Remake - 756 tris
My model uses the same UV layout as the original, so there is virtually no difference, just less polygons.
*No normal or specular maps were used in these pictures. Just the skin that was included in Attacker's KTM download was applied.

Re: Upcoming Models #2
couldnt you just use that as a LOD and make one more even less detailed? or does it already have lod's?
Re: Upcoming Models #2
The detail that is missing could easily be made up for with a normal map.
Re: Upcoming Models #2
The idea here was to reduce the number of polygons used on the bike, with the ability to use the existing maps and skins with zero work done to them.
With that said, a more accurate (to the real), but also efficient model could have easily been made. A better skin, and better maps could also have be made.
My reasoning for this is to show that 70% of the triangles used can be taken out of the plastics model, with virtually zero detail loss.

I would say that, with the same normal map the KTM already uses, the lower poly plastics will look 99% the same in game.DJ99X wrote:The detail that is missing could easily be made up for with a normal map.

Great work mona !
It will be look insane with good normal map !
