Re: need help with skins
Basically you need to hunt down a template.
What is a template you may ask? It's a .psd file (generally), which is the standard photoshop file with layers intact, which shows where all the different parts are layed out, and contains a layer which applies shading effects to the parts.
You should be able to find templates by looking around here. Or they may be on puremxs.com I don't know for sure, I had them before Wake made that site so I've never looked.
Once you have a template, you can start drawing things basically over what is there. You'll really need photo shop to do this.
That's basically it. In a general sense. The artistic knowledge and the technical knowledge of photoshop req'd to make good skins will take you a long time to learn - that's the complicated part.

Re: need help with skins
Copying and pasting tends to look bad as you have to rescale everything to make it fit (and the image quality goes to pot when you resize it).lukeyp16 wrote:wow thx alot mate so basically i just draw witn the pn tool etc no like coying and pasting? and thanks alot thats the straightest and most understandable explabation i've ever had
The die hards will say copy and pasting is gay and stupid and sucks in every possible scenerio.
Personally I copy and paste but I try to keep it limited and make sure it looks good when and where I do it.
I also am not an elite skinner by any means.
