Remove Collisions

Post by BenDexter »

Hey,

cut straight to it, I want to race online but fidn it infuriating with the people that knock you off instead of making a pass, can you 'JLV' think about allowing people to disable collision, there would be no advantage I dont feel, it would stop the 'crash to pass' I think and allow some good, hard core racing.

the crashers can leave their collisions enabled for them to have a sweeeet wreck fest.

If not can you look into trying to sort out what i think is a huge problem.

Thanks,

I can relate to that, my problem is when the gate goes down and if your in a gate surrounded by riders and your front tire barely hits the other rider's rear tire and the steering locks and its on me. It hardly happens to me but it might happen to others a lot.

what then? your telling me the racing we do online is similar to what goes on each saturday in the AMA? the riders are a joke and it ruins the whole experience, I would love to still have collisions but somehow put a stop to the crashers but I don't see another way.

I have come accross way to many riders that simply punt people, when their was a far to clear line to get around the rider, either a lapper or not but instead they decide to punt the guy off the track,I don't see the reasoning behind that?

a system like iracing's safety rating would maybe work but i know it's super complexed.

Instead of 'pfffft' ing, give me a reason why it shouldn't be implemented, and let's try and sort something out, where each 'group' of riders is happy.

If you want to completely turn it off, just race in warm up all the time! A better idea would be to maybe implement "ghost mode" (like warmup) for riders falling behind a lap.

yeah thats a way of getting rid of some of the problem, I find the root of the problem is actually racing for positions tho.

how about just really toning down the collisions? where contact can be made but,it isn't going to send you to the other side of the track,it will maybe knock you down but you will still be on the track in the same sort of position before you were crashed into....I mean passed

The collisions i will agree definatly need to be toned down. And this idea would be nice for qualifying, maybe.... but other then that it just takes away from the whole game. thats like making an FPS bullets go through your enemy, but you still get points for it (doesnt make sense now does it). Sorry but when you ask for somthing like this its kind of hard not to be rude. i mean your basically taking the whole aspect of racing in the game. when your going at it with some1 whoever is the first one with their front tire in the corner is going to get the pass and the line they want/need to keep going, take away collisions and then what..... your never really racing any1, your just riding around with other ghost putting in repeditive laps. i cant speek for JLV but he is constantly trying to improve MXS, and he most likely is working on the collisions.

JLV has already mentioned that he wants to improve the collision predictions. Removing collisions altogether though would be boring as fuck.

The most important improvement right now in my opinion is fixing the collisions. It is ridicilous how light the bike feels when you touch someone. It is like the bike is made out of paper or something...

Im guess youve never had your front end takin out at a race or on a track... it dont take much, but also we want this to be a realistic simulator. but were gonna make lappers ghosts? Im not sure but im pretty sure ama hasnt ever turned lappers into ghosts.. but hey, i might be wrong!

I appreciate disabling collisions isnt ideal, but for the time being I think it would allow some great racing again. I asked if it could be an option to disable collisions,so those who still wanted the bar banging fest can still have that.

Like i said above, toning down the collisions I feel would also make it a lot better racing.

The AMA doesn't have ghost lapped riders no, but it also doesn't have a Ban court for all the bull crap riding that goes on.

I agree that the collision right now is dumb. If I ride into you you will not fly 30 feet like a foot ball. I like that we have collision it just needs to be polished and fine tuned. This game is amazing and only getting better by the day. And the kid who wrote "pffft" you are a tool. Someone tried to make a suggestion, which this post is for. The maturity level this game attracts is laughable. All in all i think this was a good suggestion.
