First and foremost, I want to be very clear that I am in no way shape or form telling any creator what they SHOULD do. I am simply sharing my opinion and advice for anyone who may want to listen or think it is of any value. I am extremely lucky to have a lot of great creators who share a ton of great content that I get to enjoy, and I truly do appreciate it and try to return the favor with some 7.5 quality tracks to race around on.

Will someone please explain to me WHY people should release things when they just get nothing but disrespect? I want a truly honest answer here because I honestly can not think of any reason why. It's like riding in the server if I take you out in every corner are you gonna keep riding clean with me? No.

I can't speak for you, but I can share my experience. I release things because I enjoy using my creation with my friends. I enjoy using other people's creations as well to play and to learn. I enjoy the community and learning and watching others learn and improve as well. And yes, I won't lie, I like hearing that people enjoy a certain jump or section on a track. I have also learned that not everyone will like everything I do and I won't like everything everyone else does. I've learned to brush off the negative and embrace the positive experience of building something fun and sharing it with those who do like it along with learning from the constructive comments of others. If someone says your stuff sucks, or maybe it's only 7.5 in quality, make a joke out of it and turn it into a positive. I can promise I'll never forget Mr. Spinelli now, and it means even more when he says he likes something I do now because at one point he wasn't a fan.

oh and checkerz, i just wanna know, if we guys who are doing this for the game in our free time, should release our models obj, templates whatever, why didnt THQ for example do that? cause they re charging money for it? does that mean if i charge money for something i dont need to release my templates and obj files?

If I had my choice, I would have given out every single thing I did at THQ to public. I know I called them crazy when they released Reflex without an editor and plead to them daily to leak our tools to community so they could create content. Unfortunately, I didn't have the power to make that decision, and had I released all of my work I would have lost my job and found myself in a legal disaster with corporate America.

As much as these two clowns deserve to be exiled, the days when all models and skins were released openly to the public were much better days in this community. All the exclusive stuff just promoted ripping.

Like it or not, Dannyboy is right. What you give up in "power" and "control" you will get back in stress relief and appreciation from the quality members of the community. You will also no longer empower the rippers while punishing the honest people.

And finally, for those ripping on AWood. I will honestly say I used to dislike him as much as the next guy, but as of the last few months he's really been a contributor to this community and one of the few people who genuinely are always willing to help with anything they can.

Nope. Just like the other 50 times ive told you in teamspeak and skype. Wasnt me. But i guess if im tellling you here too youll never believe me and only listen to what people tell you. ive already told you who that was. Maybe its cuz more than 20 people dont like me? Doesnt surprise me

you re right, this has nothing to do with the topic, and its really some old sh*t, i am sorry for that.
but just to get it straight. creators arent the scapegoats for the community, we dont get money for what we dont, and we dont want it, all we want is a little bit respect and some appreciation.

Chris nailed the power and control comment. That's all attacker has always been after. Sad to see you and mason fall victim to his ploys. DJ/DDMX have always been open and shared what they could of their work with the community. Even if that meant there wasn't a template for the 2010 KTM, and they are two of the most respected members here if not the top two. Other than power and control what do you stand to gain by trying so hard to control your models and skins? Headaches? Stress?

This is exactly my opinion. Its the same with this new "facebook-like" trend. I dont get what the creators want to achieve with this method of releasing their stuff. I mean I cant imagine there will be for instance a company searching on Facebook for good artists. They will not act like: "hey you´ve got tons of likes on your Facebook page, you must be great. We will hire you just because of this."
