Road to 2014 Arenacross/Supercross!
Road to 2014 Arenacross/Supercross!
Hey everyone! First off if anyone In the community doesn't know me I'm Brett Mclaud. I haven't been around a whole lot for a couple months because my internet has been shut off. My family is trying to save as much money as possible so that I can live my dreams this winter and turn pro. I plan on racing the Amsoil Arenacross series to earn my Ricky carmichael road to Supercross points and reach my ultimate goal of trying for my first ever Supercross this season. I'm only 17 and most of you pry have never heard of me before unless your a close friend and that's because I simply don't go anywhere big like Loretta's or any am national. I've never really tried because I hate outdoors and am more of a Supercross guy. I have been racing A class for about 3 years now and have done a few arenacross in the past but never took it serious enough. I'm to the point now where I need to step It up and want this to be my career. Traveling to almost every round this winter is going to cost so much and it's impossible for someone to do it on their own. There's expenses in gas, entry fees, hotel fees, rider credential, mechanics credential and other minor things. I have sponsors helping me out with graphics and parts, and then I have some help with gear but all these other costs are where it adds up. I'm not the type of person to ask for stuff but I want this so much this season and can't do it on my own. I have created a fundraiser here http://www.youcaring.com/other/help-bre ... ase-/97514 for people to donate to. Like I said before I hate asking for things especially money but it's really needed right now and anything donated is so greatly appreciated. All of the donations go straight to my winter season and nothing else. Like I said before anything is appreciated and means the world to me. This is the first time I have ever done one of these so I'm hoping it works ok. If anyone does help me out let me know if it works ok and if there's any problems.
Thank you all so much for your time and to anyone who helps me out thank you even more. Wish me luck!

Good luck Brett. I know a rider who has a ton of experience who has seen your potential and knows you have what it takes.
I am tentatively planning to make a visit to Milwaukee and will definitely stop by. And of course RT is still more than happy to help you out. Watching you struggle on stock suspension is no good!
Just remember that although you are taking it serious, to not take it so serious that you don't take a chance to enjoy it and realize that even if you don't reach your ultimate goal, that you're having a bad ass time chasing your dreams and you've made it way further than many and something they would dream of.

Double post...
FYI anyone looking to donate. It's $55 per class/night/round.
Entry fees are gnarly for a whole series, and in the past I've seen a lot of privateers being successful asking sponsors to cover an entry fee or weekend of entries and the rider will race for them that event/weekend.
