2014 AMA Supercross Discussion

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Wouldn't that luck someone else into a win?
Ask Davey Coombs haha.
Not sure who that is, but I assume he says it in the video somewhere. Which leads me to ask if you ever come to conclusions about anything on your own

The point is that main events aren't won by complete luck like people make it out to be. That's like saying Reed lucked into the win, which he didn't and people are trying to make that excuse with Seely. Reed put himself up front and in a position to put himself in contention for the win. He was very patient and there to take advantage of the Dungey's and Villopoto's mistakes. He got around both Roczen and Stewart and put himself into the lead. Seely got a good start, made a gap and rode very well. But people are saying Seely lucked into the win anyway.

Lucking out of a main event would be like tangling with a lapper, bike problems, something out of the riders reach or capability to prevent, etc.

I'm a big Cole fan since I know the dude and want to see him do well, but it's dead even. Anderson can do the little brake tap rev it whip it thing and look cool, but racing comes down to lap times, and they're pretty much dead even. Cole is sick right now, how good will he be at 100% and feeling strong?
Racing does not come down to lap times. It comes down to who crosses the finish line on the last lap first. The winner could run slower lap times all race, but still make a pass on the last lap, whether it be through race craft or the leader making mistake or a combination of the two. All it takes is one lap, as we saw the first two races of the season. Times only need to matter once. Slower riders can still win mains. As far as I'm concerned, their speeds are pretty much the same. I just think Anderson has more fight. More mental toughness. If they both start up front and Seely beats him straight up, then I'll stop arguing.

Also, where did anyone say Anderson had the championship in the bag? That'd be an idiotic statement for anyone to make at this point in the season.

You have to wonder how Mitch Payton is feeling right now. In the space of a couple of years his team went from total domination to not even making the podium 3 rounds in. I just checked quickly and last year was the first year in at least 10 years that they didn't win a single championship.

His identity was anonymous? There's been pics on Vurb and racerX and every other moto site for like the last year. He only tries that with his videos now. Doesn't hide anywhere else. They even said "we got Dirtshark down there interviewing villipoto" on a broadcast recently.

He's sick. But kinda a dick. Cool guyed me for a hat 2 times in a row!

Anyways, A2 was sick and I'm glad I got to go.

cmv950 wrote:Really guys? I don't buy the whole "Cole Seely is sick" BS. He looked just damn fine on the podium last night to me. The fact is Anderson beat him straight up the past 2 races and likely would have at this one if he hadn't gotten a shitty ass start. I just don't buy it.
Well I know the Seely family, and yes "Cole Seely is sick" I hope he feels better by Oakland. He put in the work this off season and I can tell he isn't 100% out there.

By the way, someone's gotta post a screenshot of me on TV and post it on Vital and see how much shit hits the fan
