I'm not sure how the GP's work as far as how long you stay in mx2, but regardless 5 years in mx2 is 4 years less than Davalos has been in the 250s. I imagine this Coldenhoff fellow is in one of his last years in the class? But either way, the GP's are irrelevant. Davalos is sandbagging and he's not even doing a very good job at it with only one career win.Tom cortvriendt wrote:This. Coldenhoff for example is riding like i think his 5th year in the mx2 grand prix. He is 22 now. So now he does not deserve it to win races? Or a championship? Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
Well, i'm not saying that.
For sure Cianciarulo has been better all season. But i just can't stand people saying Davalos does not deserve it. And btw, i dont know who said it. But saying he is a little dude so he can't ride a 450.. Well, i thought that Will Hahn wouldn't ride any good this season on a 450. But he showed some impressive rides

Kevin131, there are many factors as to why davalos is still on a 250f. Sandbagging is just the way you look at it.
Martin and anyone close to him know his actual struggles thus far, and for you to call him out when you really don't know anything is just idiotic.

Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
So, because Davalos hasn't been forced to move up he's sandbagging? Riders get forced to move up because of their past years in the class, or can move up because they feel they're ready for a 450. Davalos hasn't mean any of the requirements to be forced up, and he doesn't feel ready to compete on a 450. AMA rules keep riders from sandbagging.

Lol nice sig. Forgot about that day.. Fuckin tar.
Anyway, Martin actually does ride a 450 but you are right it's the rules that determine it and his results.

Being a human
Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
I don't know exactly and I said "many factors" for that reason. But, if I were to guess I would think that it has to do with injuries, personal issues, sickness, shit whatever that can hinder you from being the best you can be. It all matters and it shows. You can't just say oh they're sandbagging because they've been there for a while. Think of how many different riders he's raced against, new levels of speed, and then factor in being on a 250f for 9 years. He hasn't had it easy thats for sure.
Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
This could be one factor. That he's not ready to move up. Unable to get a title would be another, because that establishes the rider will be forced up.kevin131mx wrote:Davalos is sandbagging and he's not even doing a very good job at it with only one career win.
Let that sink in.Evo997 wrote: AMA rules keep riders from sandbagging.

Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
How are you using him being on a 250f for 9 years as an excuse? And every other single excuse you listed aren't just special to him, every rider goes through them. No rider has it easy. But every other rider except him has moved out of the 250 class in way less than 9 years.Prada wrote:I don't know exactly and I said "many factors" for that reason. Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
You think he prefers riding a 250f for 9 years? I'm just trying to get you to think.. But you're too wrapped up in the thought that he has been doing it on purpose to keep riding a 250f. No shit everyone has it tough, but you don't know his life. He has experience but has his own battles. Either way he will ride a 250f and continue to piss you off until he proves he can move up.
Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
Not to mention the contracts he has been offered are for 250's. money and making a living doesn't play a factor or anything

Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
Haha dude.. all I'm saying is every excuse you make for him is irrelevant because every other rider out there seems to deal with all their problems without having to ride the same bike for 9 years. If other guys did it then I'd be fine with it, but there's a reason he's the only one doing it.
Re: 2014 AMA Supercross Discussion
This topic amazes me.
Davalos has never been expected to win races, let alone championships before. Regardless if he's been in the 250 class for this long, he deserves the title just as much as anybody else out there. He moves up at the end of the season anyway, so who gives a shit. Besides, none of you dirtbags were bashing him when he wasn't winning races anyway.
Ddavis and the other Davalos haters need to quit running their mouths.

When he wasn't winning a race* Singular, not plural. But for the record, nobody in here defending him has been rooting for him to win the title all season long either. You all just jumped on the bandwagon.MiNi wrote:This topic amazes me.

I never really liked the guy and I've liked him less and less every year he's been in the same class. No matter how many races/titles he wins, I still won't like him. Just my opinion. I do believe that forums are places for people to discuss their opinions with one another
