Have a few general questions??

Post by NewBox06 »

Hi All,

I have a few questions, I am wanting to purchase the game and I have downloaded the demo. Seems graphic wise it is as what I have seen on Youtube and my computer does meet the requirements as far as I can tell.

However, I can't figure something out. The sound seems choppy and like it stutters or skips, is this the case in the full game or is it just a demo issue? Can it be fixed or is there some setting that needs changed?

Also is there Xbox 360 controller support?

I would really like to purchase the game as it has many mods including the GNCC style enduro mods I have seen but want to make sure it runs smoothly!!

Also is there a sound mod with better bike sounds like I've seen on Youtube?

Thanks, Zac.

The demo uses almost exactly the same code as the full version, so you need to sort that out before you buy the full version.

Are you getting a decent frame rate? Type "/togglefps" in the chat to check it. If it's running really slow you might need a faster CPU and/or graphics card.

There is 360 controller support. A lot of people use 360 controllers (most of them?). "Sound on youtube", not sure what to make of that, but I know that some people have pasted real life mx videos-sounds onto their mxs videos. You can change the audio however it isn't really too simple, so don't assume that's something you will do, unless you put quite some time into that. Here's what a 450 sounds like with stock audio (random video of mine):

JLV,

I just did that and was getting 40 consistently, I changed settings to use high fps and it smoothed it out, sound is fine and it run like a champ!!

I know my laptop isn't the best but its all I have. Graphics IMO compared to what I have seen on Youtube aren't that bad, third person or follow isn't that bad either, I think I can do some more adjustments and have it to where I like it. I know the game works and can definitely deal with it!!

Now, how do I hook up Xbox 360 controller, is it an option?

Also the mods, I see on Youtube, even guys who say that they have computers similar to mine that the mods (because of the time and effort put in on just that particular piece) are more detailed that the stock bikes in the game, is that true?

The reason I am so curious is I used to ride when I was younger and after 2 bad neck and back injuries, it just isn't worth the risk and want a way to "Still Ride" if that makes since and the fact I have a 7 year old little girl that wants to ride like I used to do, makes this a no brainer - especially considering from what I have seen all the other games that claim to be realistic and faithfully recreate MX all are beyond shameful IMHO. This looks like an amazing game and judging by the fact that I just got the sound straightened out and its pretty awesome, I wanna go ahead and buy it!

To use the xbox, you just plug it in and go in game and do the same as you do with the keyboard but to the controller.

Just keep in mind, there are a lot of kids/squeakers on here that ruin the online servers by taking people out and not racing but other than that, the servers are great.

I don't know Nitro, it doesn't seem as bad as it used to be. I often ride the elsinore servers and rarely have issues...i tear my hair out if i get a bad start cus it's like coming through the pack with the most squirrly novices in the world, but i don't really get taken out purposely too much.
