Re: Where has the great community gone...
The problem is that you don't get to decide what is reasonable or not. That decision is up to the producer/distributor. Why do you think new iPhones cost $650 without an upgrade? Because Apple decided they wanted to make a $450+ profit off of every phone. I don't like that nor do I think it is worth it, and so I don't buy it. And while I do bitch to my friends about the fact that I feel iPhones are way fucking overpriced, I have never once talked to any big executive at Apple and gotten in an argument with them about it as you have here (even if the option were there, I wouldn't do that). Just stop Havoc. You've lost. You're both arguing over a dispute that was solved immediately

And who are you to determine what is a reasonable price, and what isn't? Typically the price of any given item is controlled by supply and demand, while in the digital world supply in a material sense isn't necessarily a matter, the lack of people talented enough to create extremely high quality digital models leads to an overwhelming demand. Im pretty sure the way things work is the creator sets the price for the good, determined by what they feel is a reasonable amount to diminish the exclusivity of the product, ie, with each model sold, it becomes a tad less unique, and loses a bit of value. On top of that, there is typically consideration for a modest offset to the time put in, however even 10 models sold at $100 dollars a piece still wouldn't pay a modeler minimum wage for their time put in. After the price is set, people have the CHOICE to buy it or pass it up at that price. Depending on how motivated to sell the model the person is, or how willing people are to pay, the price could always be decreased to increase sale volume, or increased to add exclusivity. Telling a modeler they cant sell their product for a certain price would be like telling BMW to stop making higher performance cars than Ford, because Ford was unable to match the quality of their products. Now that doesn't make much sense does it.TeamHavocRacing wrote:I always said reasonable price, not free.
I get a mildly aroused every time I look at the front fender of my Honda, and how perfect my bars and grips look. Hell, I spent $750 on a display and even more on a desktop to run it, I personally would like to run a model that looks as awesome as possible. Why do you care if I have worked hard enough to be able and willing to spend the money on it? How does it change your life in any way? Unless you're just a jealous, bitter old prick, who hates anyone who has something nicer than them, you really have no reason to have your depends in such a bunch.

None of you thought of this? Minus the racist stuff.

Yeah, and your're the high and mighty guy going around smashing other peoples belongings because you disagree with their views, decisions, or values. You're the ignorant one who can't control their own emotions or actions, so you ask all others to refrain from doing things that may get under your skin.TeamHavocRacing wrote:None of you thought of this? That's funny. You have a future in psychiatry.

I think you meant psychology. I didn't prescribe any medications or treatments for your delusional condition, simply gave you a bit of insight into your own thoughts and faults, and where they stem from.TeamHavocRacing wrote:That's funny. You have a future in psychiatry.

So Ezra, if you went camping with a buddy and woke up the next morning bent over a log with a used rubber hanging out of your ass, would you tell anyone when you got back to town?

I'd tell everyone
Re: Where has the great community gone...
You know you have successfully made your point whenever people are unable to refute your point, so they just start blaspheming about nothing. Later Havoc. You lost.

OK. Never mind. I promise to never post in this topic again. I'm giving you my word.

About time. Your words are futile anyways.
