I would love to see this type of falloff addressed. I can't see any reason why all of us have to race with Travis Pastrana's knees.Osari52 wrote:![]()

Yes and no, it depends... *duh*. When it comes to small and tight ruts and bumps, there are a few thing to watch out for. Too little traction will make it literally impossible to ride, 100% chance of sliding out. Too much traction can do 2 things, almost at the same time. It can be so grippy that the small stuff doesn't matter since you got all traction you need. However if you start to go sideways, it can often be impossible to save with all the traction, it will just throw you around uncontrolled. If you ask me, you have to find a sweetspot, a sweetspot where you actually have to slow down a little due to the traction, but you still have enough traction to ride with. If we take Teutschenthal for example. We changed the traction to a noticeably more grippy one the day before the release. One turn in specific had 3 lines, 2 ruts and a relatively open outside (a little bermish). The ruts had a few bumps going out of them, purposely they were not completely straight, but a little sideways, just to make it a little more difficult or simulate a little "stone" edge sticking up out of the ground. With the old traction, you really had to be careful on the inside, while the middle (or 2nd inside) rut and outside was the easier lines. After adding the new traction, that was absolutely no problem, making the inside quite powerful. The terrible acceleration bumps before the 2nd tabletop after the start became a little harder with the new traction in my experience. More traction, yet I had a harder time doing the jump consistent. It's all a fine line, in the end, it goes down to what you have for a vision for the track. If you want it grippy, then go with the grippy traction and take it's characteristics that comes with it and the style that you build the track with. I hope I don't sound like a big ego or mastermind when I'm explaining, I just want to make people understand the tradeoff's and gains you make with each decision.motokid499 wrote:I could be wrong though, maybe if the ruts were small and technical enough we could get away with having more traction?

Thanks Hinners for getting this on stream. August will never learn. He's lucky he didn't cause Kellen or I to crash, or else he'd be watching from the cheap seats next week
