The joint that connects the rider to the bike applies whatever force is needed to keep the rider aligned with the bike.

Allright, could those be used to simulate the rider to apply force like in reality, or is it already? I'm asking 'cause the bike has a pretty big tendency to start side swapping when going through rough terrain, it feels like the rider doesn't use anything else except hands to hold on to that bike.
One another thing, I think it's been said already but is it possible to make the rider shift his weight more on top of the bike while leaning so the tires have more grip? Or is this already in effect but just not showed through animation?

When I experimented with moving the rider side to side it didn't work well with the auto-stabilization.

But i think that would be the next big step forward, being able to manipulate the bike side to side as well as forward and back.

It would be sick. Either that....... or ragdoll detach button. :D

That would be awesome.Like when you know your gonna crash, just hit a button and baill off,but make it be realistic, I think it would look sick for screenies, and just make it more of a simulation. :D

I dont get why some aspects of the game are automated and others are full simulated ....Its a simulator so you should be able to control the bike and rider separatly in my opinion ..that would be simulation ..90 % of motocross is on really rough courses but if you look at 90% of the tracks made for mx sim they are like supermoto tracks ...smooth as butter ...this is not motocross ...reason being is not being able to have full control of the bike ...the reason you can ride rough and rutted courses in real life is having full control using your body and the bike separate....This is my opinion of course but its pretty much common sense ....Ive said this before but it seems people like the way it is ...I would prefer realistic

Heres my top 5 wanted changes as of right now:

1. Crashing. Not just for the look aspect of it, but picture it more as "I don't think I'm going to make it, so I won't try it, considering I'll crash and not bounce over the landing. (Triple at Budds Creek, for instance. Or the downhill right after it, people won't bomb straight into Henry Hill.)
2. Rider movement. Slight movement of the hips, would do a lot. It doesn't need to be a huge amount like Barcia's whips, but just 6 inches either way, could add loads. I'm not sure how it could me implemented, but I think it needs to be in.
3. Shadows/shading/HDR/ all things graphical. This could take this game up to the next level graphically, easilly.
4. A sort of ground grass system. Such as Battlefield 2, Operation Flashpoint:DR, Empire:Total War. I think it'd work really great in MXS. Have a way to make the ground support a layer of randomized grass over the top of it, because as it is, using billboards/objects makes the ground look really funny, and wastes a ton of polys. These are fairly low poly, but look fantastic.
5. Sounds. Not just bike sounds, but ambient sounds also. A bird chirp, a cheering fan, crowd roaring in a SX stadium, etc. Maybe random sounds from the bike, such as a more pronounced rev limiter (Watch Barcia ride.), or a chain slap, suspension, tires, rattles. This would take a tremendous amount of time to succeed in, and this is why it's number 5. Because if we wanted perfect sounds, we'd be sitting here waiting forever.

Sorry for keep bringing this up, but it really annoys me. Is mxs very vram dependent because it has to load all of the different object textures and terrain textures while you ride? This is about the only game that I can't use max settings in game because of low vram (512MB... :().

Although being able to control the rider from side to side, it would get to be to many controls (mainly for us guys who use manual shifting). I wouldn't be able to do all of it at once.

I think it would be fine

Left stick for bike steering
Right stick of Rider lean
L1 - clutch
R1 - Sit/dab
L2 - Brake
R2 - Throttle
L3 (Click left stick in) - Change gear up
R3 (Click right stick in) - Change gear down

If you wanted front and back brake to be separate you could have clutch as X or something as you don't really use it unless you have stopped

JLV are you looking to try and implement it again? or not going to worry about it

Yupp, same here. That's been bugging me about this game from the start. The way the bike reacts to rough terrain right now is just not realistic, or has anyone tested the game with a REAL hidef track that has tons of very small bumps? Don't get me wrong though, it's still hands down the best mx game made for pc. But it could be a lot better.

Agree, it's hard enough right now with the number of controls. I wouldn't mind if some of the rider movements or weight shifting would be made automatic or simulate them with artificial forces affecting the bike/rider/riding as long as the outcome would be the same as in real life. Eg. rider shifting side to side would be made with a new force (that appears out of thin air while leaning and sitting) added on top of the bike pushing it towards ground to get the effect that the rider is sitting on the edge of the seat. Getting it actually working is a whole another matter though..
