But does the config file save now oncce you exit the game, after making some adjustments?
Re: 2009-10-26 snapshot
Deleting it and recreating it reset the file's permissions. It probably had the wrong owner after the upgrade.

update is very nice. Only now I can't play the game even with my graphic settings lowered without have the game lag like crazy. Even when I try to watch my demo with the shaders I can barely move the camera around. Guess my computer can't really handle the shaders?

If you don't exit the game the right way, i.e. by exiting from the main menu, it won't save the data. If you exit by alt tabbing out then using another method to shut the game down it won't save the data.
And also, the problems with people saying that their game is suffering uncontrollable lag...it's a sign of the times. With the addition of new features including shaders, shadows, and other features as well, we will have to start making compromises in other areas. This means no more 2048 texs on objects, better poly usage, and lod's are gonna be a must unless you have a super computer. Compare it to mva, and how they limit texs to 512, terrain to 257. The more complex mxs becomes, the more gpu and cpu intense it will become as well.

Yeah. I set my model texture detail to 9 now. I just get this continuous spikes at 10. 1024 pixel textures do the job anyways. Gonna be some hectic texture memory consumption once we get specular and normal maps.
