Crimson Valley

Post by sethypeety »

Here is my newest track, a sand track in a red desert canyon. I want to start building more outdoor tracks but I'm not 100% sure what kind of build style I want to go for yet so I decided to try a few different things when building the corners on the track. Now that I'm finished I think I have an idea of how I am going to tackle ruts, bumps and berms on future tracks so definitely let me know what you want to see done different.

I made a map for this and since I was getting some unexpected cuts I added some ama stake billboards.

So I saw you say something about the sketchy timing gates and didn't really think anything of it, but I realized after doing my lap in the Elsinore server that I had some cuts too and checked them to see what was up and apparently I forgot to line the timing gates up when I moved the start and first corner a little bit. Nearly 10 years of building tracks and I still do dumb stuff like this..... The worst part is I had staked out the whole track and decided to delete them because I wanted the track to feel unkept

Maybe I should have used the cactus billboard instead! It was the gate on the straightaway before the finish that was getting me.

When I do timing gates I usually put down the hay bales first and then make the gates match the hay bales.

Might actually be possible to get the bots working decently on this track with updated timing gates.
