Track of the Week #9 - Thursday Aug 21 - 2019 The Sand Track

Post by jlv »

This is the "Track of the Week" series where we have casual races on a new track every week. If you're a newbie or just not that fast, this series is meant for you. Fast guys are welcome but since this is for casual players don't get mad if some squid on a 125 gets in your way!

This week we're riding "2019 The Sand Track". Sandy but not *too* sandy!

Entry fee: FREE!
Registration: None! Just show up!
Bike class: Open!
Time: Thursday August 21, 2025 9:00 PM EDT
Server: elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19805
Track link: 2019 The Sand Track

The track is running on elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19805 now. I'll use the lap times from there for the seeding if more than 40 show up. Planning on doing two 8 lap motos.

You poor old sod, the slog on that 125. I'll suffer with you. Just tape the throttle open!

I might break down and use a 250 this time. I can't get over anything on the 125. The 250 is around 10 seconds faster for me.

I'm miserable on either of the 2-smokers. I'm gonna go with the 450 and less miserable. Les Miserables?

Probably a good idea! I'm Larry Loop-out on the rm250 but at least I could kind of clear the jumps on it.

Here are the results:
moto 1
moto 2

Here are the overalls:
1. (2,1) 9055 Mud
2. (1,2) 19993 Seth Petersen | Spitfire Aprilia
3. (3,3) 38842 Lucas Arriagada | Digital Worldwide
4. (6,6) 40125 slowguy45
5. (5,7) 5597 Tyler Frye | Team Volcom
6. (4,8) 5998 Andy Hack
7. (10,4) 53905 isaiah dickerson | i make 3d models
8. (10,5) 29775 Hudson Rainh2o
9. (7,9) 22885 Tim Brooks | DeezRutz SRR
10. (8,10) 1 Josh Vanderhoof
11. (9,11) 1129 PizzaChet | Team HAVOC Racing
12. (10,12) 45845 Riley/need a team
13. (10,13) 19120 Clean Out Curtis | Professional Goon

It was a fun track but it seemed to spread us out a lot. Big gaps between every position!

Thanks for racing! If you have any ideas for the next track feel free to post them.

Thanks to Riley and Curtis for padding the bottom of the barrel for me! My only suggestion is to make it an oasis of "normal" traction in the desert of boggy sand we've been in last couple of weeks.

Not gonna make it next Thursday, I'll be out of town so I won't recommend anything but I do want to say that I'll be requesting Fort Winton every single week I'll be racing until we do it  Just please don't do it without me, still super disappointed I missed Avalon and I don't want the same thing to happen with Fort Winton!!

I definitely don't have lots of time right now but I do enjoy the racing. The people who show up are good dudes and want to keep doing this and that's all that really matters. It's good for me to have a weekly race with Havoc!

I do intend to set up discord and see what that's all about. But for all I know a crowd of discord kids could actually ruin the fun in this. I just want something unintimidating for newbies and casual players.

Well, THAT sure guarantees my commitment! Great insight about Discord. It might end up like a poster signing for Deegan. You might be bombarded with questions trying to crack the code of the mysterious, ever elusive JLV. I admit that the first few minutes would be a total grilling from me lol. I only have one suggestion for next track. Regular traction, or even sticky like Hurricane Hills.

That's the thing about real time chat like IRC/discord. I used to use IRC back when I played quake 3 a lot and hanging out in a chat room wastes your time in a way a forum never will. I just don't have time for it! I think if I set up a discord it'll be a little pointless since I won't be online very often.

Definitely agree on the traction!

Actually Hurricane Hills would be sweet! Definitely a +1 from me on that track.
