So like, how else was i supposed to re enter? I know i was at fault for causing kellen to crash but not really sure what else i could have done to re enter safely at the bottom of a bigass hill

Anything that is a .saf file can be placed in any folder inside your personal folder without issue. Tracks/skins that are not .saf will not work properly if placed in a folder.
Tracks CAN'T be in a sub folder, but skins not safed can be now. I've had skins nested in 4 folders and they work fine still.

Normally this isn't an issue, but I just really don't want it to happen again this year. My computer isn't terrible though where I need to eliminate the replacement pack and have 0 skins in the game, I just don't know if it's because I had too many skins or my personal folder had too much junk in it, or if it was the track itself because I probably had more skins at Hangtown than I did at Glen Helen and I didn't take forever loading in there.
Amount of tracks you have installed (personal folder or install folder) does NOT matter after the game is loaded. Low object pack should help raise fps but shouldn't affect loading (not downloading, you already did that) people's skins unless there is a huge difference in load times between the low object pack and high/ultra.

Largest difference is still team packs, which I saw your other post talking about that. Also I still haven't tested it back to back yet but I replaced the crowd with a pure alpha image (blank non-alpha would give solid colors where crowd is, pure alpha shows no crowd and doesn't have to draw the edges of the people combined with my transparency anti-aliasing setting).

I haven't noticed my fps go lower than 90 with ultra object pack during a race using:

The model geometric detail is pretty useless unless VERY low though since almost no models maybe besides tires actually use LODs.

I was getting 20-40fps WITH VSync... Pretty lame hopefully this won't be a problem for the rest of the tracks.
Try Hardware/Copy instead, it (without telling you or changing your setting) limits the ground texture resolution to 256x256 anyway (IF you have it set higher it will use 256x256 no matter what you have it set at, your 64x64 will stay 64x64 though http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic. ... 14#p453814), it could be faster and I doubt you'll see a worse ground texture than using 64x64 to start with :lol:.

VSync can feel smoother since it's a constant fps if your pc can maintain it. I used to use it but stopped because I noticed drawbacks in input speed after directly comparing it to no fps limit (it can cause input lag sometimes). Also you can get screen "tearing" if the fps is at your monitor's refresh rate, I tried using a fps lock around 75 or so (higher than my refresh rate of 60, but low enough to be pegged there no matter what) but I think I noticed the input disadvantage vs 125). Scramming doesn't cause lag, it may increase your loading time though (I THINK, I haven't done any personal tests and I don't recall jlv commenting on speed differences at all). Once all files are loaded it doesn't matter if a pack is scrammed or not.

To add to this, if texture files are saved in 16-bit mode vs. 8-bit, it increases file sizes, PLUS takes longer to load since the game automatically converts the 16-bit images to 8-bit (http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic. ... 85#p583885).

Just kind of curious, I think I remember seeing that when someone reenters the track as long as you stay on the very edge of the track and hold your line its just as much the other persons job to leave you room correct?

not gonna quote a private message but theres a lot of grey area with the rule and it was just best to go through with the protest. i just re entered as best as possible and what was safest in my mind. if i continued up i woulda slammed a bale or jumped way further in

Don't even hit me with the "friend" in quotes ALog. Just because I think you re-entered the track shitty, then cross jumped me exiting the next turn to make me even happier doesn't mean I'm going to start cool guying you at races Mr. "My Flow is Strong and I'm With a Chick in the Industry." I think Hoffman is like racing with a nuclear bomb waiting to kill anyone within 45 square miles but he's still my "friend". And you act like the protest is outrageous when in the text you sent me right after the Moto, you pleaded for me not to protest you. C'mon guy.

I do think August's track re-entry was pretty much on par with August shenanigans. I know that's why Roy is possessing the salt and if you want to have much salt because of that, that's cool Roy guy, I still like you bro. I still like August too, but racing August is starting to creep up into Hoffman criteria. I suppose protesting is against the code of conduct these days though, shame on me. Stupid Jesse and Devin submitting protests for poor track re-entry! How dare they! Burn them at the stake!

The second link on the racefactory page (track files) doesn't work for me on thunder valley and says requested url not found.
